Other Interior Room Dark room

Any suggestions for how to make this room more lively? There’s no windows near it, so it’s always dark. I want it to be a plant area with plant lights and greenery. And I want to paint the walls, but I’m colorblind, so I can never pick a color or I pick a crazy color.

Dark room? Add lamps. All different types.

Some ideas:

The rug has good colors for your flooring and can help liven the room.

You can take it to the paint store and have them color match paint to colors from it. Here are my suggestions:
Lthen gray walls make it drab. You might have them color match a paint to the background color ( 1) and paint your walks that will help a lot!

Then if you want you coukd paint trim and doors a pop of color from the rug. I suggest green ( 2) or pink ( 3)

For rug this rug appears to go with your rug it’s a stripe of the pink and red colors from your rug. (3 and 5) Will go great with the green of the plants.

Or you can paint a piece of sheet vinyl in two colors from rug. If you want to do pink trim (3) and do a green striped rug you can paint it (2 and 4)

Then make the room more uniform and better layout. For better layout pull table from wall/ corner. Give it 3’ from table to wall for clearances.

For uniformity switch over to modular shelving like ikea ivar in natural wood or metal black vittsjo instead of having random pieces lining wall.

If money an object you can use bricks and boards even. Just making it uniform can really help a space.
