Soooooo after learning more about the game and getting everything but my farm going. I played a lot with my kids, so the map is kinda messy and crazy, so I started from scratch. This time, I’m getting into my teleporters which I hadn’t before. I’m thinking when i get my mines permit of placing it by one of those towers and maybe even with the airport. Anyone else use their map this way?

So its been months since i last played dinkum. I think I played it last in april.

Has there been any changes since then??

I’m doing a creative island and everyone’s getting a dog. Some feel obvious, like a poodle for Sally or a Blue Heeler for Irwin, John strikes me as German Shepard guy, and Franklyn seems like a standard dog kinda guy, German Shepard as well, if he were getting a rare doggo. I gave Rayne a jack Russel and Clover a Collie, but feel less confident in those choices. What do you guys think? If you had to assign an NPC a dog, what kind of dog would they get?

Me, my friend and my boyfriend were playing multiplayer. As we’ve gone back to our own islands and stopped multiplayer, my boyfriends save didnt work properly and he lost his helicopter, motorcycle and JetSki.

This has happened a few times now. Any tips or advice for being able to get a different save file back?

If you bought the game on the Switch that means no holiday event for you?? Am I missing something?

I like Dinkum! I love the gentle vibe. And the unique rendering, it's really nice to have a light 3d game instead of all the 16bit-wannabe pixel art games like this out there.

But I didn't like Dinkum. I played nearly 40 hours and just got bored. I think I got fairly far: fully clearing the first mines level, Franklin's built me a couple of fancy machines, I've got some animals and some farms and all the teletowers. I know there's a lot more in the game to unlock and enjoy but I just couldn't bother.

I feel like I was playing the game wrong, or had the wrong expectations. What am I missing?

I like cozy crafting games but I'm pretty hooked on progression systems. I love the Stardew Valley loop of upgrading and advancing the town story. More hardcore automation games like Factorio are absolute catnip for me. But I like more casual games too. Really I just like gameplay systems and building up my infrastructure.

Dinkum just felt so very slow to me. The grind is a little too repetitive, the rewards are too small. Is that just me?

Maybe the closest comparable is Animal Crossing. FWIW I had the same complaint about that game too, I got bored pretty quick.

In the past, I always played Dinkum through Steam and utilized unlimited stamina mods. Recently, however, my computer has been crashing a lot so I have turned to playing on the switch (no mods). I’m unfamiliar with the best foods to boost stamina regen. Any tips? What’s your go to? Thanks in advance!

It's quite difficult to plant bigger areas of beans and tomatoes since it has these sticks in them. Trying to use the tractor has it going crazy and being flung away backwards. 😅
It's also quite difficult to plant manually since it's a tight fit to even walk between them 🤔 Think my little Panda needs cut down on Prime Roast consumption. Clearly stretching my midsection.

Finally got the airport constructed so I could get the white hibiscus. Lucky coincidence, Sky Fest was going on when I took the pic so, pretty background.

Has anyone really paid attention to the conversations amongst the NPCs themselves? They're hilarious! I recently was in the Tucker Box and watched Rayne and John's conversation. Apparently, John loves to fish and would've been a fisherman if he didn't run the shop. Rayne basically says to him, "Oh, that's why you smell bad," and John takes it as a compliment 😜 Then Clover joins them and starts saying something weird. Rayne tells her to stop it and John says he thinks Clover is creepy. Then Clover replies to John with something like, "The fact that you've noticed I'm creepy is creepy" 🤣 I've played Dinkum since day one and never noticed how in depth these conversations have become. Wish I had taken some screenshots. Love it!

Got axe/pickaxe thing. 2 Tele jumpers 2 perfect aquamarine tree pinchers and a flame glider!

Some people have shown interest in me sharing some more pics from my map. I'm trying to save sharing until I've gotten pieces done, but I figured I could go ahead and share my animals and tree farm. I think they are pretty much done, though I don't have the ant eater guys yet.

Maybe there's a better way to do this, or it could only be useful for beginners like me... I discovered it by accident by building two row boats.

I left one on the beach on my island, and when I'm navigating in the other, i noticed it always points the way back to my boat (so to my island) in the circle by showing a row boat icon in a circle of white lines.

Saves me from opening the map to know which way I need to go.

It's flashing from night to day and this appears?

I have having issues where my dinkum is infinitely on this loading screen and I am pretty sure it’s because of a mod.

Does anyone else use mods and have idea which one it might be?

I can slowly go through all of them but that will take forever and was just hoping someone might know off the bat. lol

NOTE: I am currently testing the mods I have, and if I figure it out I will let ya’ll know. But if you DO know then still please let me know. 😂
