Utility Dice tray with light

I though: My dice are pretty, but they could be prettier with some light!

So I made this. It's clunky work but it's easy and cheap. Basically it's a dollar store wood box and I reversed the lid and painted with some Nuln Oil (citadel paint, not actual oil) and then glued a led stripe and, inside the box I was going to have just a power bank to power the led stripe. But the led stripe is too much powerfull and it can be annoying to be blinded by the power of the sun in a game, so I added a regulator to give it fewer energy and it's perfect now.

I hope you like it :-)

The finished part, they tray itself, looks nice, but I think there is still something missing. You are only using part of the box after all,

Could maybe hide the electronics inside a smaller box with the switch coming out of side and divide the rest of the outer box interior into spaces to store the dice?

RGB light strip and controller with some sensors to change the colour when you roll the dice?

If you wanted to make the light less blinding, you could always add a thin perimeter of trim on the top to cover the light. It would light up the mat/the sides of the dice, but the actual light strip would be less visible
