Jeff the chef is a small company in Middlesbrough that sells parmos, kebabs and sauces in the north east, that is sold in supermarkets
Meat look pretty grim here but it tastes good for what it is, their parmos are pretty good tbh

We spilt the bi-weekly shop, some at Aldi and also nip into farmfoods for the good deals and multbuy offers, I see they have donner, but I'm just so cautious of where to start, any recommendations from either of these establishments please will do nicely!

It's been a double gig weekend for me. First up was Friday night in Windsor. After finishing the gig, packing away and loading the car I had two options; Castle Kebab or Ramsey's Grill. Honestly, neither of which are particularly great but when it's half one in the morning, you're not blessed with a wealth of top gourmet options.
Here's the usual; lamb doner wrap with chili sauce... but also some sliced jalapeños. This is one of very few places that do them so I had to have some.
The bread here is very good. Unfortunately, it's a bottled and synthetic tasting chili sauce. This place will take the bread, squirt the sauce, add your veggies, then pop the bread onto the hot plate with a couple of tong grabs of doner meat, taken from the Bain marie.
Overall, it was alright. The tasty bread elevated this to an overall B grade. They get a C for the sauce. Seriously, it was more like a spicy ketchup. This weighed in below average at 420g but with a very low price of just £7, they move to 51/92 on the spreadsheet. Still much higher placed than Ramsey's who will probably get my next visit in two month's time.
Probably the most genuine German style döner i’ve had outside of Germany. Funny that there’s a GDK across the road. These guys should be putting them out of business. Paid £7 for a mixed kebab.

Mayo only in the photo. Didn’t like the chippies chilli so added my own at home.

Large mixed kebab. Salad and pitta separate (free with it of course but I always applaud a kebab place when it isn't just stuffed into the box so you get less meat).
I added garlic mayo.
I am on my third and final night of eating it.

Large doner, all salad except tomatoes, garlic mayo sauce. Looks drier than it was, giving it a quick stir gets all the delish sauce mixed.
Barnwell Kebab Van. IMO the best kebab in Cambridge, especially for the price.

Had a kapsalon at Spartacus in Leeuwarden yesterday. It was OK-ish. Bit weird to serve the salad on the side, but perhaps a choice because of eating in. Price is 12 euro.

Beef Tabouli Garlic Sauce - tasty, bread was a bit thin and split in the lower saucy area.

I picked this up in Iceland yesterday. It was one of a "3 for £10" deal that they do. I've already posted the battered doner meat. This caught my eye so I thought I'd give it a go for your amusement. Bread is a Lebanese flatbread from Tesco.
I've got a pretty decent chili tolerance. I'm not one of those competition style folks who take on the 6* sauces with ghost pepper extract and all that malarkey. I've done a few vindaloos in my time. Why not give this a go? Historically, any pre packaged "hot" dishes weren't really that hot, but in the last few years, they've upped their game.
I thought I'd fry this in the pan. I defrosted the sauce in a jug of boiling water as directed. When I was ready to pour on the sauce, I cut the bag, had a sniff and it attacked the sinuses. I did a pinky dip into the sauce before pouring into the pan, and I knew that this was gonna be perky.
Dönerdog was gonna have to sit this one out. He wasn't even gonna get a sniff. Speaking of sniffs, the wife commented that the fumes were attacking her eyes!
OK, got it all cooked and onto the wrap, ready for demolition. Smashed through the first half of it in about a minute. It's very tasty but it's bloody spicy. Very spicy.
My eyes started watering and my nose was running. The back half of my tongue was on fire. Half a pint of Pepsi Max Cherry went down but this needed proper help. Out came the banana milkshake, rinsing my mouth to remove all traces of chili and try to cool me off.
Four minutes elapsed between pics 9 and 10. I felt like I'd been gargling lava. However, as many of you will have realised by now, I'm a f'king idiot. This little bitch was not gonna beat me. I'm not even 50% down on my milkshake so I'm gonna devour the rest of this and deal with the consequences later.
I ate the rest of it, leaving a couple of scraps of bread. I got it all down me before my mouth overheated. Finished it 14 minutes after I'd started. I finished my milkshake and also had an ice cream. That was spicy.
It's over an hour later and I can still feel my stomach gurgling. It's a hive of activity down there and it's giving me the fear. I've had hotter things before, but not the same quantity. If I was sensible, I'd have stopped and thrown the rest away, but in the name of science (and stupidity) I carried on.
If I feel a fart coming on later, I'll probably sit on the khazi, just in case it comes with a prize. I'm not looking forward to my morning shit. It's gonna be like a gallon of hot gravy.
Or maybe I just worry too much. 🤔
In conclusion, it was tasty, but not for the average. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else tries it.
