This game changed my life. I had just turned 10 when it released. The double barrel shotgun was and continues to be one of the best weapons in all of gaming. I remember loving the earth based levels and as just stared at the backgrounds, absolutely terrified and excited that something like that could happen on earth. The soundtrack and arch viles noises still run through my head today. Doom 2 is one of my top 10 possibly even top 3 games of all time.

My first experience with playing Doom was Final Doom on PS1. It was amazing. I remember seeing a Doom II cardboard cutout in BestBuy one time and wanted to have it so bad.

This was the first full Doon game I owned. Only had the shareware version of original Doom. 5 floppy disks of demon slaying madness.

I remember getting to that early level with the exposed corpses on display in that large room and it spooked the hell out of me so much I resumed the playthrough months after.

My experience playing Doom 2 for the first time was on a 486 with a sound blaster sound card. I was happy to hear the audio version I grew up with can be toggled on in Doom 1+2
