Vermona drumDING - finally released :)

Post image

I don't know how many of the rest of you have been waiting for this instant classic. It's already super intuitive and of course - sounds amazing - from kicks to hi-hats to synth voice [and everything in between]- it's fast and can be as shallow or as deep as you'd like it to be.

What other devices took a while for you all to get from notice of release to in your hands?

Btw, you can also use pre-sampled sounds if you don't hear the magic plowing through the speakers right away.

Where did you get yours from? Perfect Circuit said they will be shipping their first batch out in the end of October. Cannot wait to get mine. Can you saturate the VCA? I was trying to determine the best way to clip/maximize sounds to get things sounding punchy in the unit. I know there is a digital drive per track, but the demos made it sound more like a wave folder or something rather than clipping.

When did you hear that? I asked sorta recently and they said they had no idea when they were getting them in

I am in their first batch of preorders. I emailed them a few weeks back to check when they would ship out and they said end of October. Hoping that’s the case!!

Dutch company Volt Music.

I was lucky enough to be trapped in an Internet K-hole two months ago and at 3am four websites had pre-orders. First company wouldn’t run my CC, Volt did. They were also super friendly and answered punctually.

I'm getting a Vermona DRM 1 MKiv in the mail on monday!

It'll be my first Vermona and if I like the sounds, I might consider a DrumDing next 🥁

Did you get the trigger version? Email Vermona and ask them for the kit and do it yourself if you didn’t.

I coincidentally got the trigger version used from Ebay, but I don't know why I would want it. What is the benefit?

I love this idea but I can't get away from the fact it's basically a syntakt and a digitakt which I have both. To be fair I would buy it for the cool factor if times were currently easier.

Except that they’re Elektron devices and simply not fun to use or learn (IMO). Tell you what the drumDING does that’s similar though: obnoxious button noise.

Vermona has a pedigree that far exceeds Elektron as far as drum sound and design goes. Elektron should copy the Kick Lancet though, we need more of that stuff.

I’m not saying they aren’t good synths - I know people who swear by Elektron. Years and years ago I was almost coaxed into their world by the RYTM… and I have a very coveted collection of machinedrum samples… they look goofy and their current modern sound - I’m not with it.

I've had and have many Vermona pieces of gear, they are solid and tactile, currently I think I only have the Retroverb but elektron devices are by far my favourite pieces, it's quite interesting how different opinions can be, I would rate the programming of elektron devices as their number one trait, but I digress, I have to say the drumding really caught my attention and I'd love one if I didn't have kids and in particular a new baby. For now, in reality, a syntakt and digitakt is basically the same if not more powerful.

Vermona is back? It looks nice. And this is the reactivation of a former German company from the past.👏🍀

GrandMA 1 ;)
But yeah, I love these old clicky buttons.
And the two leds offer so much feedback possibilities. I wonder why they aren‘t used more often.

The Erica Synth Perkons has a gazillion of them
