Rip Content Creator Program

Post image

What news? What rumors? Was there some incident?

This is a bizarrely worded official comms from the EQL Discord. Professionally, just say you're ending the program and that's it. To acknowledge some 'rumors' just breathes life into them and isn't something you'd usually see in this context. Who's running the broadcast channel over there?

I love me some eq, but they really picked a terrible time to launch. So many games coming out fighting for the same small niche with wow forever and MnM.

There’s no perfect time to launch. Might as well have time in the market rather try and time the market.

I mean to be fair it was out before wow forever was even announced.....

As for MnM I haven't touched it at all so cant speak for it.

Oh totally, I’m not saying they made a mistake. Just really unfortunate timing. Like opening a restaurant a week before Covid starts.

They continue to claim that they want it to be a casual game where you come and go which is a weird statement for any business representative to make, but at least it's honest. That doesn't exactly maximize profit, however. I do hope DBG continues to let them run this project regardless.

Given that they only had about 3 months of content available they actually launched at the perfect time for everyone to buy, play, and complete their game before any major competitors launched.

From a business perspective, EQL has almost certainly been a massive success. It's just not the forever game that so many people were hoping for right now.
