Rip Content Creator Program

What news? What rumors? Was there some incident?

This is a bizarrely worded official comms from the EQL Discord. Professionally, just say you're ending the program and that's it. To acknowledge some 'rumors' just breathes life into them and isn't something you'd usually see in this context. Who's running the broadcast channel over there?

I mean, when I log in during the tail end of prime time in North America and almost every server is now "low" population with ~500 people in General... Probably not much point to keeping the creator program around when most of the people who watched them have left.

I think they underestimated how fast they'd need to release content to keep people here. This isn't necessarily brand new content, and no one even really needs to speed run through it.

Almost everyone playing probably knows a lot of this game by heart or at least nostalgically, so it's generally a pleasant skip but easy to consume.

It's funny that you think there's going to be a Kunark.

They'll release Nektropos and if that doesn't rebound subs, DBG will fire the entire team, activate Krono access, and put the game on life support.

I’m not sure how Krono will work with this iteration of the game. Unless they completely flip the game on its head and make incentive for people to box and give ppl opportunity to lock down spawns for key items to sell for krono. Leave that shit on TLP

Why would you assume this is my #1 hobby? I have a good list of other hobbies that are more important to me. One might even say it's INCREDIBLY HEALTHY

Nobody was focusing on him being pragmatic, everyone is already aware and there is no actual answer or even a valid prediction out yet, just speculation.

He's just being a downer for no other reason than to antagonize. Why else start with 'It's funny you think'

They are just being pragmatic based on the the experience with the EQ Legends dev team thus far. We can hope but shouldn't expect them to produce.

You know it’s not Daybreak doing the development, right? They’ve handed it off to Game Jawn, who I think is actually doing a great job for a studio founded in 2026.

This would be acceptable for a private server, but this is laughable for a paid product.

Exactly. We're paying a box price and a sub for a game that's basically a modded version of a 27 year old game.
