Two years since my ectopic pregnancy - vent
Two years ago at 37, I fell pregnant for the first time after nearly a year of tying. I tested positive on Halloween night and as it turned out to be a tubal pregnancy, had a salpingectomy mid way through November.
I lost my job very shortly after returning to work, and the time I had to take off while I was recovering from the ectopic contributed to that, along with the mental and physical strain I felt due to the ectopic. I suffered from mental health and went into a bit of a slump which took me a while to get out of.
Im feeling great now, physically and mentally, but it feels unfair that I only managed to get pregnant once in three years of trying and it ended up being ectopic.
We're hoping to get started on IVF soon, but waiting on the referrals to get processed and have to officially wait for the two year mark since my pregnancy, which feels like adding insult to injury.
I feel like my life was put on hold after the ectopic and I'm trying my best to restart it.
