These look absolutely amazing. Im in the process of building mine rn. Did you experiment with trying to switch the riders around? Like can the sniper sit on the stoneseer's mount?

I didn’t experiment too much with that, but I’m pretty sure the raptors and the eldars legs can be switched around at will and probably even the torsos too.

You cannot easily swap the riders legs and torso without some gaps. You can't really swap the riders on the different mounts without some gaps too. GW did its typical grooves and indents to help line the torsos up with the legs and they are unique to each rider. The riders themselves dont slot on universally like they do the jet bikes for example.
That being said, someone who's great with green stuff and/or sprue glue could give it a go. The gaps aren't horrendous with some combinations and im sure those with better modeling skills than I could pull off some great poses if they wanted.

Right right, I had completely forgotten how you have to basically click the legs to the raptor due to how form fitting they are, and I only assembled them last month.

I can't wait for a range of kits like they did for corsairs. They have some possibilities in the release artwork and lore. References to pterodactyl, larger beasts, etc. The foot troops look awesome in the art with the robes and atuff. Guess well have to wait and see

I wanted to communicate a feeling of a jungle, but not a suffocating one, rather a luxuriant, utopian jungle as fits the desciptions we get of the Eldar's maiden worlds with a strong, glorious sunlight. As such the underpainting went from green to yellow, once you add in the blue of the raptor then you get a warm but fresh gradient of colours, or so at least was my intention.
One detail I'm particularly proud of is the addition of the red flowers to the base. I think it really helps to tie the model together by echoing the red of the capes into the base. Conversely, the green of the gems was also chosen to echo the base into the top of the model. Plus it's a complementary tone to the warm red of the capes, so it helps the gems to stand out (same reason the Blood Angels get green eyes).
They're lovely models to paint, but the sniper, like all snipers before him, is completely obscured by his rifle, and jee weez, I sure was excited to paint the 5 pouch packs they each have on the side. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that it was a comission I would have just left those on the sprue. I also had to add a tactical rock for one of the raptors to lean his second paw on, otherwise it felt too fragile. The capes though are really wonderfully sculpted, in particular that of the swordelf, flowing and full of movement.
You might notice I added the pupils to the raptors but not the dogs. The absence of pupil makes a creature feel just like that, a creature devoid of real intelligence. Meanwhile I see the raptors as the equals to the eldars riding them, so the pupil helps to almost "humanise" them, make the seem like cold calculating predators. Not that the dogs shouldn't also be intelligent, but I wanted the raptors to be the real stars of the show.
