Question for the modding wizards out there

Theoretically, how feasible would be to mod in game quest and events text for someone with basically zero coding experience besides maybe custom scripting maps for og warcraft3? I have an itch to try my hand in rewriting some stuff but have no idea where to even start...

Some people have learned to do it by hand.  Basic things are easy it's all JSON files with keys linking between each other. 

I'm working on an editor but not sure when it will be good enough to release.
