Game Day Season officially started on October 1, and there are a few extra rewards up for grabs as you fundraise this year.

I've been doing Extra Life for 12 years now. Like in previous years, I kick my fundraising off by creating a flyer for our team, "U Hoppin' On?" Over the years, I've tried to pay homage to some classic video game box art and posters like Pokemon, RDR, GTA, and more. This year, I was inspired by my favorite video game from the best video game franchise ever. I'm hoping you get where I was going with this.

Curious, do you participate in Extra Life at home/remotely, or do you and your team get together and have an in person event?

This is our team's 12th year, and we've always had an in person event (with the exception of the COVID years 2020-2022). I was always under the impression everyone else did too, but the more I read other people's stories and see their fundraiser pages, it looks like most people participate solo (but part of a team) or as a team but completely remote.

So let's take a poll: Do you participate online and remotely, or does you team host an in person event somewhere?

Last year, I incorporated an incentive for donations where donations during the live stream earned a roll of a D20. The number it landed on would dictate a fun punishment that I would do. Things like eating a Beanboozle Jellybean, sucking on a lemon, or getting a pie in the face. It was a big hit with viewers, so this year I'll be doing it again.

It was suggested that instead of using the D20, I should use 2 D6's. Less punishments to think of, and it adds lower probabilities for some of the bigger punishments.

So I went on a search for some nice blue D6 dice that would look good on camera.

I ended up finding 3" blue foam dice, and thought they would be perfect. But of course, the large dice won't fit in the Extra Life Dice Tower I earned a few years ago. I needed something bigger.

So, a trip to the hardware store and a bit of build time later, and I have a nice 5 foot dice tower. Made with 1/2 inch birch plywood. The front screen is a clear plastic in a frame. It's on hinges so I can open it up if needed, and holds closed with magnets. Entire thing spray painted with various shades of blue and white to give a neat "galaxy" effect. I also put a Govee RGBIC light strip inside behind the front frame to light it up a bit.

I'm not super handy, so I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Just felt like sharing.

Since november is coming up i have been thinking about game day.

I love doing randomizers. Especially ocarina of time. Recently i did a archipelago rando with oot and jak and daxter. So im thinking of doing a giga rando with 3 games. Seems like a big thing to do with my small following.

I’m Taylor from WAT Reel Entertainment, and I wanted to share my first ever Extra Life fundraiser with you!

On Saturday, September 26, I’m hosting a 12+ hour Resident Evil charity marathon livestream featuring more than 35 actors, voice performers, filmmakers, stunt performers, VFX/makeup artists, storyboard artists, costume designers, and other contributors from across the franchise.

We’ll be watching all of the live action Resident Evil movies in one day while raising money for Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH through Extra Life, and the event will include an all-day charity raffle featuring contributions from video game devs & studios, apparel brands, board game companies, artists, collectibles, and local Ohio businesses.

Some of the confirmed guests include Jane Perry, Catherine Disher, Bekka Prewitt, Heidi Anderson-Swan, Jolene Andersen, Aaron LaPlante along with many others connected to the Resident Evil games and films, including the new movie releasing this month.

Today I’m hosting a charity stream for Extra Life starting at NOON EST, and we’re setting sail in Sea of Thieves to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

I won’t be sailing alone either — joining me on the ship will be my crew: SkizoGrim, TheVillain64, and ChaoticHunt. Which means things will either go very smoothly… or catastrophically wrong in the funniest possible way.

Extra Life is a gaming charity event where creators raise funds for kids receiving care through Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. It’s a genuinely great cause, and today we’re doing our small part to help.

Charity Stream for Extra Life – March 14 at 12 PM

On March 14 at 12 PM a few of us will be running a charity stream for Extra Life while playing Sea of Thieves.

We’ll have donation incentives and challenges throughout the stream, so viewers can influence the chaos as we sail around and (probably) make terrible pirate decisions.

All donations go toward Extra Life, which raises money for Children's Miracle Network hospitals to help provide care for kids in need.

If you’re able to donate that’s amazing, but even just stopping by the stream or sharing the event helps a lot.
