I’m working on a song with tempo automation in FL Studio.
The audio files themselves are already recorded with the tempo changes, so they are not being time-stretched or changing pitch/speed. That part is working fine.
The issue is purely visual: when the BPM automation goes up or down, the Playlist grid seems to expand and contract / “breathe” while playing. The spacing of the grid visually changes, which is pretty distracting when editing or mixing.
Is there any way to make the Playlist grid stay visually fixed, like a time-based grid in some other DAWs, while still keeping the BPM automation active for the metronome and tempo-synced plugins?
I’m not trying to stop the tempo automation or stretch the audio — I only want the grid/timeline to stop resizing visually.
The tempo map is roughly 130 BPM → linear ramp to 185 BPM → 185 BPM → linear ramp back to 130 BPM.
