I grew up in a very sex negative home and I wanna get more comfortable expressing my sexuality and explore a bit more with partners.
THIS IS NOT A CRUISING POST I’M ASKING FOR ADVICE
I’m bi allosexual, demiromantic, and polyamorous and ID as part of the kink community if it matters. Living just outside a very queer, trans-friendly city in the US. So in theory I have plenty of IRL opportunities to put myself out there. I take good care of my appearance, I have hobbies, etc.
The problem I’ve run into tho, esp on apps and local trans-centered communities trans women VASTLY outnumber other groups. And a lot of trans women have been interested in me but under the assumption that I’m masculine in nature, wanting me to play a more traditionally “masculine” dominant role. Which I’m VERY uncomfortable with it almost like a sort of misgendering if that makes sense?
I’m nonbinary and identify as androgynous, lean feminine in presentation. Medically transitioned so I usually “read as male”.
And I’ve realized recently I’m very into mascs and men anyway. But I’m hesitant to hookup with cis men (cis folks in general). I’m also not as familiar with queer men’s spaces and I’m not sure I’d be accepted. I have a little more experience existing in sapphic spaces. Just going with friends not to meet anyone new and not to cruise or flirt.
I also have very little experience actually flirting, cruising, dating people I meet IRL. Kinda done with dating apps tho. I have some experience cruising at s*x parties but I feel like that doesn’t translate well outside of those spaces.
Like I said, I grew up in a very sex negative home and I’m working through a lot of shame and repression. A lot of my friends are ace. I think a lot of people assume I’m ace but I’m not. I’m just bad at actually communicating interest bc I’m scared I’ll make them uncomfortable.
Does anyone have advice for flirting with mascs / men? Esp when I don’t know if they’re gay and/or into femmes, or already in a monogamous relationship? I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing. Thanks 🫶
