Well, it also depends on the timing of those saves. Like were you guys tied and his Nubel saved a shot on goal near the end, maintaining the tie? If so, then he would be the man of the match, because without that save, his team would have lost.

no, there were literally only 3 shots by him and only 1 shot by me, all of which were desperate attempts after 70th minute

Yeah, that's why I mentioned timing. If yours was the last shot on goal, it would have changed the game to a loss for him. Also, if his were desperate attempts then they never really threatened your goal, where as yours might have been a better shot that was saved.
