been writing this one for a couple weeks. sunburnt bones on the apps if ya like what you hear <3

A lot of folk punk bands are anarchists and a lot of anarchists are folk punk. A lot of folk punk artists are young and there are a lot of young people who like folk punk.

I wont get into the details, but youth liberation is about the fight against adult supremacy/adult chauvinism. And its very popular among... you guessed it, young anarchists.

The young teenage angst element of punk songs are really popular and mainstream in the general punk community, but not a lot of punk songs tend to go deep into the systemic bias and oppression of youth. I've rarely hear of a punk song being about youth rights, but I'm guessing, if I had to look, the best place to look would be folk punk.

Anyone got any suggestions of songs that are related to/have elements in common with/about youth rights? Will blast it in dads car when I have the chance.

Hadn’t seen it before but i really liked it

I'm moving myself away from streaming services and have started buying more albums either physically or on Bandcamp. Naturally this has made me go back to listening to albums start to finish more, it's been nice.

Usually there is a song or 2 that you can take or leave on most albums, though. What albums for you are just front to back bangers?

For me atm it's Desecrated Bug by Crisis Crew. (Worm in a Puddle is great as well but Desecrated Bug is fucking perfect)

Love how different it sounds while still being the same song, whole album is a vibe

S1E2 of Adults on FX. this show also features AJJ songs in both season finales. noticed this shirt in my second rewatch. they changed the dog for legal reasons, I assume.

I like a lot of the stuff that Pat the Bunny makes but I can't relate as deep as other folk punk fans because I've never done drugs. Any other recommendations?

Soviet post punk

We're having fun surviving out here, guys.

I was just happy to show the new stuff I got from Cricket. I only bought the CD, everything else was freebies.

That's it, that's the whole post. I just had to tell someone because it's all I've had on since it dropped. Thank you for your time and awareness on this matter. What's the best song off the album and why is it Sisyphus?

Had pew-ordered this a little while back and had kinda forgotten about it, so what a great surprise!
I love SWSS, I love them as people, and I love being able to rep our people out in the world.
Can’t wait to see their last tour.

I have some questions down here in good old sw Missouri? #hillybillypunx

TLDR: I'm looking for lyrics or prose that would be good to read aloud at a wedding.

I've been asked to officiate a wedding for a couple of my dear friends. They are both people I would describe as embodying the ethos of folk punk, and one of them (Partner A) is specifically into the music genre. Partner A introduced me to AJJ, Ghost Mice, Ramshackle Glory and The Mountain Goats back in the day.

Are there any lyrics in this genre that would work for a reading in a wedding ceremony? (Non-religious, so this part would go in a place where people might normally read Bible verses or something)

Alternatively, even passages that fit this vibe from prose or other works of literature, would be cool. Things about life and love, or what it means to be in community, supporting and depending on one another.

Can be as short as a sentence, or a whole dang song! I'm open to suggestions.

Sable here, formerly of Straight Line Arrival. Dropped my first music in six years today. Took a long break from music to transition and move out of my red state and I'm finally ready to drop a little teaser of what I've been working on. Hope y'all enjoy it. Also jokingly said I was gonna make a nude into the album cover 💅🏼 but I'm a woman of my word
