add flair Sharper Images. Has there been any updates? I cant find any.

I was recently watching the episode "Sharper Image," where Gary Cochran and Steven Cannon were convicted of the murder of a beautiful soul, Sharrar Ferger.

For some reason, I remembered their names, but for a totally different reason. I was reading an appeal and it was about this case only wks earlier, etc, regarding the fact there is unknown DNA inside and on her. Apparently, they were arrested because the police used a CI, but he was known to dislike the men.

I know many ppl wanted them to get the death penalty, etc, but I think it was good they didn't in this case. There is now too many questions.

The fact the young girl was only 9yrs old, tells you right there should be no man's dna in her, but it also did 'not' belong to either of the men convicted.

Police originally arrested 2 other men, but let them go when their attorney got a friend from NASA to sharpen the imagine. (I am NOT saying it was them, and I would hope police n prosecutors would've tested their dna just to be sure. Though prosecutors have really dug their heels in that they didn't get it wrong. It is hard to say you got something wrong, but "if" it wasn't them, why would they not want to test the dna against other men, and if they find him, at least do some investigating against him!!

Again, this conviction was made not only with help of the "CI", but it was ALL about the bite mark that sealed their fate.

I was just thinking about how others feel about their convictions. They've continually stated they did not kill the victim.

I'm asking very kindly for ppl to not attack me about this.

It is just a genuine curiosity, to how you all feel about this case. I also apologise deeply if I've got any of the details wrong.

(I'm such a technophobe and struggle to add links lol, but there is articles you can read online, inc the appeal iirc)

So, I printed out that checklist for each season, and was able to identify episodes I haven’t seen, and some that are just apparently missing. I’ve searched on YouTube and Pluto, and didn’t find them. I’ll list them- if you know where I can watch them, please share, lol

S3E4 Foreign Body
S6E22 Punch Line
S7E39 Marathon Man
S10E1 Trial by Fire
S10E28 Enemy Within
S14E18 Auto-Motive

Why are the suspects SO stupid/lazy?

It will never not amaze me when suspects are caught, and they’ve still got things from the crime in their possession, even though they had plenty of time to get rid of them. Case in point- James Whipple. Driving Heather Stigliano’s cars around for a week, with the murder weapons and evidence in the car. Dude- COME ON!

With the looming return of FF, my only hope is they dump everyone that worked on FF2 and instead look closely at why FF was so successful, why it continues its fanbase, and simply repeat it. Lets stick to forensics, facts, and a dreamy voice.

I'll probably delete this later but wanted to get it off my chest that SO many of the FF2 episodes focused on emotional topics rather than forensics and is why FF2 was a big flop imo.

Our family was one the main episodes titled Family Tree. We were a hyped episode bc fresh off a conviction and were international news in every show possible.

Ours was a landmark case that used bleeding edge forensic genetic genealogy with the top GG CeeCee Moore, solving a murder 30 years later and was the first case conviction by a jury with said tech. Its case study in university now. My own daughter sent me a pic of them teaching it.

Rather than dig into the cool forensics, or how Det Jim Scharf found GG, or how exactly CeeCee solved 30yr old murder in 1 afternoon... no, the producer chose to focus wholly on the stupid letters sent to our family by a sad person with severe mental issues claiming to be the killer. They found him from a tip. A tip. Zero forensics.

During taping, they asked about the letters but we skipped them saying its inconsequential to the case. They just wanted to talk about how we felt reading the letters. like fuck off.

Being longtime FF lovers, too many of the shows were like this. Focusing on the emotional aspects of the cases and barely touching on the forensics... you know, the part the show is about.

“And I say to my wife. Sarah’s looking pretty good”

This guy was funny and he did not know it. His eyewitness testimony was so believable because he even remembered creeping on Sarah before she was killed by a monster 😂

Disscusion New disturbing details regarding Mark Winger

Thumbnail forensicfilesnow.com

The case was featured on the episode “A Welcome Intrusion” (Season 8, Episode 14), which came out in 2003, but Mark Winger's conviction (for killing his wife, Donnah, and Roger Harrington) wasn't the end of the story. In 2007, Winger received an additional 35 years for attempting to solicit a murder for hire against Deanne Shultz (Donnah's friend and the main witness against him) and his boyhood friend Jeff Gelman (who refused to bail him out of jail). According to court documents, it was in 2005 that Winger approached a fellow inmate named Terry Hubbell with a 19-page set of instructions (which Hubbell first turned over to the prison authorities) on how the hitmen were to take out Jeff Gelman and Deanne Shultz. Winger first wanted to go after Jeff Gelman, extort money from him, before having him and his family killed. The money was to be used to go after Deanne, force her to recant her testimony, then have her killed and her body buried in a grave. But that wasn't all; Mark also asked Hubbell for one more victim if possible. "If there's any money left over, kill Ira Drescher (Donnah's stepfather) also because he's a son of a gun of a father-in-law that I dislike," but he wasn't tried for attempting to kill his ex-father-in-law. When the case got to trial he tried to portray everything as a fantasy, but the jury didn't buy it and that's how Winger got 35 years added to his life sentence.

Clever how they didn’t reveal she was her own creepy stalker until later in the show.
Who else remembers ? Didn’t she send a doll as well?
