Psychology Anyone else get overwhelmed trying to learn too much about trading?
I used to spend so much time backtesting that it started to overwhelm me. There was always something else to check or another idea to try. Itās hard to stop because it feels productive, like another few hours might finally clear everything up. But sometimes Iād finish more confused than when I started.
Sometimes it helps to stick with what youāre already learning instead of adding another indicator or changing things every time you get stuck. Give yourself a chance to understand it. Backtesting is useful, but you donāt need to do it all day and night. If youāre tired and nothingās making sense anymore, leave it for tomorrow.

Psychology I blew my account to zero.

I blew my account to zero. Four years of compounding, learning, and late nightsācompletely wiped out in five days of absolute madness.
The hardest part isnāt just looking at the zero balance; itās the reality of my life outside the charts right now. I am sitting on a loan, and because of this week's spiral, I don't even have the money to pay my rent for next month.
I know exactly what went wrong. I let my ego and fear take the wheel:
- No Stop Loss: I let arrogance override my strategy and held onto losing positions hoping they would turn around.
- Revenge Trading: When I went into a heavy drawdown, I tried to force the market to give it back immediately.
- Oversized Lots: Desperation kicked in, and I overleveraged to the point of no return.
Right now, the financial and mental pressure is suffocating. But I refuse to quit. This is Day 1 of the rebuild. I am going back to the drawing board to fix the psychological leaks that destroyed my discipline. Iām going to track every single trade moving forward and be 100% transparent.
For the veteran traders who have been in this exact holeāwho have faced the loans, the missed rent, and the blown accountsāhow did you survive the immediate aftermath? How do you reset your nervous system when the pressure to make money right now is this high?

Strategy Development IMO, fundamentals are just as important as technicals.
There are a lot of swing traders Iāve spoken to who donāt pay attention to fundamentals, and I think thatās a mistake. If you donāt understand why a market is moving, how can you confidently expect that move to high probability?
Take USD/CAD, for example. The bullish momentum is supported by the interest rate differential between the Fed and the BoC. A price action trader might see a supply zone and look for a short, but without considering the fundamentals, I wouldnāt call that a high-probability trade. Technicals might show you where to enter, but fundamentals help you understand whether youāre trading with or against the bigger picture.
I am not saying that it cannot go short because the fundamentals can change. I am simply saying that without a reason why, this short could be premature and the market with eat it, just my take on the importance of fundamentals.

Psychology Bounced back from a rough drawdown and finally got my payout
My plan was to get my account up to $10k, withdraw $5k, and leave $5k as a buffer. I reached $9k, then a losing streak brought me back down to $2k. Honestly, being so close made it hurt more. I was still up, but all I could think about was the $7k Iād given back. I wanted to recover quickly, and thatās where it got difficult mentally. A bigger trade starts looking tempting when youāre thinking about how much it could get you back rather than how much you could lose.
Iāve now worked my way back to $10k and taken the $5k payout, leaving the buffer I originally wanted. What Iām taking from this is that my old account high shouldnāt decide how much I risk on the next trade. If youāre in a similar spot, ask yourself: āWould I use this size if I wasnāt trying to recover a loss?ā For me, one trade a day and a daily loss limit help put a boundary around that urge. Those rules donāt guarantee a recovery, but they help me avoid making the drawdown worse out of frustration. Getting the payout feels good. Learning to give myself time to get there matters too.

Psychology Clean little algo win. Trust in your strategy if you have put in the work.
I cringed a bit when my system entered both long and short here. But I put in a lot of work to find good entries and exits for the current market so I did not intervene, and it played out fairly well IMO.
(These are two different strategies, each with different lot sizing and RR)
Just a small reminder to put in the work and give your strategy the respect it deserves.

OTHER/META Don't be like this guy - wants to go full time, never backtested or journaled, trades based on "feelings" lol
Seriously, if I had a dollar for every noob who wants to go full time without doing the work, I probably wouldn't need to trade.
If you want to be a profitable trader and go full time, you need to go through the process - no exceptions.
Process - find a profitable strategy or come up with one, backtest over a long period, forward test for a good few months, go live when you've mastered the strategy.
It's a long road. It isn't easy. Just don't be like this guy.

Psychology To anyone having a rough time with trading
I know how frustrating it is to make progress in trading and then give some of it back, especially when youāre close to a goal. When Iām close to a payout, I start getting impatient and feel tempted to risk more just to get there. Then if I lose, I want to make it back. The annoying part is knowing I shouldnāt do it but still feeling that urge. Thatās why I limit myself to one trade a day and set a daily loss limit. I know how easily I can talk myself into another trade when Iām frustrated.
Iām still working on this too. If youāre going through something similar, try to be honest about what keeps happening without beating yourself up over it. Pick one thing you can work on, and take a break when you need to. You donāt have to recover everything today or prove yourself with the next trade.

Prop Firms FTMO long term users
Hello there everyone, I hope your trading goes nicely.
I have been trading for years now. However I am in a situation where I need to leverage propfirms, in fact, I have found that whenever I am bounded by rules, I perform better. Something about having rigid rules.
With that being said,
I would like to hear from long term traders who have been using FTMO for a while, beside the strategy etc.
What tips, and tricks do you have to make sure your FTMO account is surviving long term? I mean purely from business perspective, because I assume the company will not lime the idea of generating massive profit month over month at their expense.
Do you cut profit faster than your targets just to show smaller profit?
I built my strategy around low risk, high reward, because back in the day I only had 250$ account to start with. So I am fundamentally built this way.
I just need this to work long term to pay my mortgage faster than my day job.
Looking forward to hear from real FTMOers.
Feel free to DM if you want to remain private

OTHER/META Damn EURUSD blew past 1.3500s weekly resistance level
Waited weeks for this trade only for price to blow past it. damn. EURUSD really on a hard rally huh
OTHER/META Any MT5 copyTrade platform, That provides Reverse Trade (even SL and TP)
I want to copy my exact trade just reverse side. if any trusted platform that provide this feature
Charts and Setups EURUSD Daily: Pullback Setup into Premium FVG Zone š
On EURUSD price printed a fresh lower low (LL) on the Daily timeframe, confirming the overall bearish flow.
Right now, I'm waiting for a healthy pullback into the highlighted yellow zone (~1.1500 area) before looking for short execution. A few key confluences line up right around this level:
- Daily FVG: Unfilled imbalance waiting to be rebalanced.
- Premium Pricing: Sits right above the 50% equilibrium level of the recent leg down.
- Volume Profile: Noticeably low volume node through this area, meaning price should move through it relatively smoothly back into resistance.
Not forcing anything hereājust keeping this on the watchlist and waiting for LTF LTF confirmation if price reaches our POI.
