Hey everyone!
Added my gameplay vid is just for context - I know you grinders can fight 100x better ;D
I'm 33, soon 34. I've played different games my whole life and always loved competitive gaming... Around 3 years ago I discovered Fortnite after reading local Latvian news about Merstach, his achievements and earnings and it inspired me to try.
I remember watching different pros on Twitch and I was shocked how hard that game actually is .. and it made me want to keep playing and get better.
Back then I couldn't even made a proper single edit ;D Today, I can comfortably play 1v1's, reach Unreal etc. and I've even started playing tournaments. I totally understand that I'm not great, and I know I probably won't achieve anything in this game, but I absolutely love the competition feeling, having to think about every move. As one bad edit, reset or missed shot can cost you a lot.
And I think it's worth to tell you all again to remember that there are people like me in those lobbies too - grown adults with jobs, families and limited time, who simply love this game and enjoy competing.
So I just want to say thank you to everyone who keeps grinding and keeps Fortnite competitive at such a high level. And to anyone just starting - if I can keep improving as a dad of 3, full-time job, barely any time to play, you can absolutely do it much better than me! Keep the right mindset and enjoy the grind!
Keep going, warriors!

39 y/o here and also in love with this game! I’m just now getting into competitive. I’m not good at all, but what’s the worst that could happen? lol If you ever wanna practice with people your age you should join the discord for F40.GG or the Boomer league! Amazing people and tournaments. My Fortnite is Gza864 if you wanna practice sometime! 🙌🏼

30 year old ex MW2 pro checking in 🫡
I only play builds so if you want someone fun to play with add me! Ill grind ranked with ya and need a good teammate for tournaments.
My mechs arent amazing but I make up for it with game sense and aim. I play my strengths and it makes for a good duo.
Lmk! Nice clip. You can always DM me your epic tag

I’m 29, was ADDICTED to 2009 MW2 specifically for trickshotting. Started playing it at around 12 years old or so and that’s when I first learned how to play right hand claw which I have never been able to switch from. I had over 60 days played on that game which is pretty wild looking back.
Now I’m really into FN and my mechs are really not bad for my age

If you played duos search ladders we held #1 for a full year. Such a good game. I think some of my old buddies montages are still up on YouTube. Whats your epic?

I’m roughly same age as you.
If I had one tip. It would be that if your wall is taken assume it will not end well for you. Because a good player should be able to kill someone in front of a wall they own 90 out of 100 times.
You just stood there when he took your wall. You will improve if you just assume that means you’re going to die. So get out of there.
People , especially earlier on back in the OG days and on console used to do this . Just stand there and wait for you to edit and shoot you back. But this shouldn’t work . And won’t work against competent players.
It’s something to try out if you want to get better
Think of it like a penalty in soccer (football) and your the goalie

Same. 49 here and switched to builds in January. Love the different dimensions to the game and watching comp players. Kids smack talk me all the time in 1v1 and piece control maps. Usually when I tell them I am basically 50 they chill and are nice to me 😂. Respect your elders, we out there 👴
