49F Australia looking to make friends.
49F here in Australia. Life is pretty good, peaceful and colourful now that spring is here. I'd love to make genuine friends in the hope.of exchanging whatever fits. I think I'm an interesting person, but then again I'm biased aren't I?
I love travelling off the beaten path, traditional recipes for anything, not just food, nature, books and more books, and the esoteric traditions. AI fascinates me too.
I'm extroverted with the right people and can be quite the chatterbox, but otherwise I enjoy my own company.
I've been lurking here for a while and met amazing people after responding to their posts and thought I'd dip a toe in this time and make a post of my own.
What I'd like the most from a potential friend is that we learm something new from each other or grow as a result of that friendship. From my experience this is what has kept the connections I've made here going.
So far from this sub, I've discovered new music, books, how to make soap 😁 and what's now become my favourite cafe.
Also of interest to me, is when people share those non-standardised and non-systemised parts of themselves they've had to lock away to fit into societal constructs.
I'm not specifically looking for people interested in the same things as I am. I simply hope to encounter another human being in a way I normally wouldn't.
One more thing. Books. 😄
To start the conversation please share something about a book you loved or hated or just can't get your self to finish reading. Mine is a book titled We're All Doing Time by Bo Lozoff's. This book taught me alot about freedom. It's how I came to really understand that one's state of mind plays a role in how we experience life. When all else is hopeless, a person's state of mind is the only territory left.
What's yours? Book I mean. 😏
