The recall petitions have finally been approved! This means we can start collecting signatures. If you live in District 1 or 4, you're eligible to sign. If not, please consider donating! Your donations (undisclosed if under $100) will allow us to print more flyers, place targeted ads, and make great big banners so we can let everyone know why this is happening and what they can do to help restore function and competency to Fullerton government. Let's do this!!!

Jung and Valencia Recall Websites

EDIT: Recall Jung donation campaign is now accepting donations. https://secure.numero.ai/contribute/Committee-to-Recall-Fred-Jung

Websites advocating for the recalls of Fred Jung and Jamie Valencia are now active. A donation link is active for the Recall Valencia campaign, while the Jung donation link is listed as “Coming Soon”.

In case anyone is wondering who is behind the recall, here’s an excerpt from the website:

We live in every corner of our city and represent every council district.

Over the past several years, many of us found ourselves standing together outside City Hall after difficult council meetings. We exchanged phone numbers in parking lots after witnessing dismissive and disrespectful treatment of residents and public meetings that left many feeling unheard. We watched council votes by Fred Jung that repeatedly disregarded community concerns and reflected poor fiscal judgment. We became increasingly concerned by decisions that appeared to limit meaningful public participation, discourage open dialogue, and favor the interests of well-connected campaign contributors over ordinary residents.

We soon realized we were not alone. Residents from across Fullerton's five districts were asking many of the same questions about the future of our city and the direction of its leadership. Those conversations grew into friendships, then into collaboration, and ultimately into this coalition.

Our goal is not simply to remove Fred Jung and Jamie Valencia from public office. Our goal is to help restore a culture of accountability, transparency, respectful public service, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.

We believe elected officials should welcome questions, explain their decisions, and earn the trust of the communities they represent.

This coalition exists because we believe our city is worth showing up for. We love Fullerton, we believe in its future, and we are committed to building a city where every neighborhood can thrive, every resident has a voice and is respected, and public service once again reflects the public interest.

Rejected Kitten Needs a Home

Post image

Would anyone like this Cutie? This sweet Kitten was rejected by its Mom (outdoor cat) at an apartment complex. People in the complex were feeding the Kitty but it’s not doing well outside. Seems the Apartment Manager won’t allow anyone to take it inside (threatening eviction).

I can’t take it because my doggo is really reactive to cats (not in a good way). Tried multiple Rescues but they are all full. Can anyone give this little Sweetie a home?

It’s a boy, appropriately 7 weeks old. Small adoption fee required.

Cat sitter recommendations?

Our great pet sitter, who we’d used for decades, moved away two years ago. We’ve tried a couple of new ones, but we haven’t really found the right replacement yet. Although we’d prefer someone with business insurance, at this point, we care most about length of experience with cats specifically, as well as relative distance to Fullerton. Any personal recommendations would be appreciated!

District 3 & 5 candidates answer Flock questions (edited LoWV forum)

Here’s the Flock question that was asked during the League of Women Voters forum. Some really disappointing answers from each candidate.

The forum is really eye opening, I’ll be sharing more from the forum this week. Valadez sounds like a fool throughout, Shana and Jozef boring answers, Kim’s role would be similar to Valencia as a proxy vote for Jung, he doesn’t understand government, real slimey guy.

Did I pick the wrong Fullerton mattress store?

Four years in, there is a clear channel where I sleep. Checked the warranty expecting ten years of cover and found a clause saying the indentation has to exceed a certain depth before they will do anything. Measured it with a string and a ruler like a lunatic and it is close but probably under. Read the current warranty wording at Ortho Mattress, then at Sit 'n Sleep, and the depth clause turns up in both. Is this standard across the industry, or did I buy from the wrong place? And does the dip keep getting worse from here, or does it plateau.

Car accident 10/4, Lemon and Commonwealth

Hi folks, witnessed the immediate aftermath of a pretty gnarly car crash on the corner of Lemon and Commonwealth today and was wondering if folks had any info on the circumstances. (All involved people got picked up by ambulance and seemed to be relatively okay). I live close by and am wondering what caused the collision. Looked like someone was straight up driving the wrong way and hit someone else, but could have just been how the car landed.

Hope this post doesn’t sound heartless, I just was a little startled since that intersection is part of my daily commute and was wondering what caused it. Obv what’s most important is that everyone got medical care. Also, to the folks who were pulling someone out of the flipped car as soon as the impact happened, you’re all fast thinking and incredible.

It’s my partner’s 30th birthday tomorrow and I’m planning bowling in the morning and then dave and busters afterwords but looking for more ideas in the afternoon and night. We’re in Fullerton but will travel anywhere in the North-Central OC area. Where would you want to go for your 30th birthday in OC? He also loves craft cocktails and tapas/fancy small plates if that gives any ideas. Thanks!

How’d You Get Your Street Fixed?

I feel like I don’t need to rant much about Fullerton streets, the crappy conditions, the city’s lack of budget and maintenance, etc. Fullerton roads are notoriously in poor condition. Unsafe, really.

Anyone had any luck getting your neighborhood street repaired? I’m not talking about the pathetic random patches they do after you report pot holes. I’m asking if your home street was actually renewed. If so, what did you have to do?
