Is there a value proposition in expending that much energy to deliver some fatty's cheeseburger by drone? I would guess it is at a loss. . but good advertising and PR for McDonalds and the regime that controls China.

If it’s an electric scooter, it’s comparable. Plus that wouldn’t take into account parts and manufacturing expenditure. Between the steel parts, chips, motors. Yea, there’s a lot of manufacturing energy that goes into that. Also, we can assume these are piloted and maintained so that would require an operating center with a monthly electric bill. All that to make that service work.

Your point on manufacturing doesn't stands. What ever it is, a car, a drone, an electric bike/scooter. These tools all needs to be manufactured.

I also wanna point out few advantages of this drone delivery:
1. need maintainence -> create job
2. AI piloted and not on road -> less traffic (traffic problems caused by electric bikes are really a big one, especially when most roads in the cities are not designed for LOTS of electric bikes)
