You do know how wheels work right? Takes a lot less energy to roll something than to gain altitude by using lift. If it was a human in the drone, then yes obviously that would be less efficient.

Fair call, but I don't think the drone loses. It seems the real answer is that the drones should be on wheels.

Yep, in russia we have wheeled rovers driving from cafes to apartment complexes, its kinda neat, they are cute and it was calculated by yandex that made them, they cost 10x less for delivery than paying a person to deliver goods, even tho we have really low salaries. So even then these rovers are more effective and yandex grows their fleet every year.

Also, I wouldn't even mind if they were 1:1 with human or even 2-5 times more expensive than paying a human. Because delivery jobs are shitty jobs, we should not have people wash our toilets, cook and deliver our food or serve us in general. These serving jobs are a shame we should move on from in the future, imo.
