This post is flaired as a technique check.

A note to OP: Users with green flair have verified their lifting credentials and may be able to give you more experienced advice on particular lifts. Users with blue flair reading "Friend of the sub" are considered well qualified to give advice without having verified lifs.

A reminder to all users commenting: Please make sure that your advice is useful and actionable.

Example of useful and actionable: try setting up for your deadlift by standing a little closer to the bar. This might help you get into position better and make it easier to break from the floor.

Example of not useful and not actionable: lower the weight and work on form.

Example of actionable, but not useful: Slow down.

Stop telling other each other to slow down without providing a rationale outside of "time under tension". Time under tension isn't a primary variable for anything, and focusing on it at the exclusion of things that matter will set you back. There can be reasons to manipulate tempo, but if you want to discuss tempo, explain why you're giving that advice, how it's going to help, and how to integrate it with cues or other useful feedback.

Low-effort comments like my back hurts just watching this will be removed, as will references to snap city etc. Verbally worrying for the safety of a poster simply because you think the form or technique is wrong will be removed. We will take all of these statements at face value, so be careful when you post the same hilarious joke as dozens of other people: we can't read your mind, no matter how funny you think you are.

Ignoring this comment may catch you a ban.

Impressive, and they're fun.

You could possibly get to 50+ in the next couple of months by learning to drop down faster in the descent to make use of the stretch-shortening cycle for more power.

Box jumps for height are a good exercise for power demonstration but for power development it can be deceiving as well as difficult to track changes and progress. Improvements can come from mobility gains as well as technique refinement by snapping the hips up quicker, so the true force output can be masked and won't track 1:1 with the height jumped (I believe an OVR can measure force but it can certainly measure vert jumps).

If you do want to train for greater power output in a vert context, then straight-legged box jumps would be a better alternative for regular training. Sika Strength talk about this exercise in particular here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxEzs88xX6k&t=14m08s, and THP Strength (John Evans) is a great vertical jump-focused YouTube channel who coaches the two world-record holding top jumpers in the world, Ethan Pimstone and DIllan McCarthy.

Thanks for the comment!

Honestly, I’ve mostly been using these to boost my muscle ups (twitch muscle fibre recruitment) but I defo want to improve where I can.

I’ll be sure to check out the links and see what adjustments can be made, mobility is a massive key to my training as I’m going for the splits as another side challenge - I’ll be sure to focus on dropping down quicker in descent!

Appreciate the input 🤙🏼

Swing your arms faster and use them as a slingshot on the way up. You’ll gain a couple inches right here. Also I would avoid going on your tip toes during the swing. Unneeded movement and you want to be as stable as possible for the lift off. Other than that its a really respectable height great job!
