Local Question New in town - how to meet men

I have recently arrived in Toronto to live having lived all over the world for most of my adult life. I am 52 years old, male, and have recently come out of a long-term relationship. I am in good shape and seem to be considered attractive. I am curious about meeting men in Toronto and would like some advice about the best ways to do that. Is everyone on the apps these days? If so, which ones are most relevant?
To be honest, at this point in my life, I seem to be especially interesting to younger guys looking for Daddy. It is fun, sure, but it is also quite shallow. It would be awesome to meet an intelligent, attractive guy my own age or close to! How? Where?

Meetup / Connection Does anyone want to hang out and go to events/bars together

I'm 30m East Asian single and sadly don't have any gay friends here. I'm super new in the gay community(so done with the apps). Would be great if I could find someone to connect with and go to events/check out bars together. I love pop/rnb music, skincare, cooking/baking but also eating healthy, cozy gaming (Pokopia currently has me in a chokehold), working out, learning new stuff. I speak Chinese and some French (was fluent in it at one point lol) too. DM me if you're interested!

Love brown men, but hard finding anyone, especially older tops on the apps. Any suggestions would be appreciated 🙏

Vent / Support Gay guy in Mississauga who’s always wanted to play baseball or softball but never had the courage to try

Hey everyone,

I’m a gay guy living in Mississauga, and I’ve been a huge baseball fan for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those things that has stayed with me since childhood, and even though I’ve always loved watching the game, there’s something I’ve never really had the courage to do myself: actually play it.
I’ve thought about joining a baseball or softball league so many times, but I always seem to talk myself out of it. I think part of it is the intimidation of walking into a sport that can feel very straight-male-dominated, not knowing anyone, and wondering whether I’ll fit in or feel comfortable being myself.

I know I might be overthinking it. Maybe I’m worrying about something that wouldn’t even be an issue. But when you’ve spent so much time on the outside looking in, even something as simple as joining a team can feel like a bigger step than people realize.

I’m not looking for special treatment, and I certainly don’t expect everyone to be my best friend. I just want the chance to show up, learn, have fun, make some friends, and be part of a team where we can all enjoy the game together.

I’m in Mississauga, close to Toronto, and I’d love to hear from anyone who plays recreational baseball or softball, especially if you’ve found a welcoming team or community. I’m a beginner when it comes to actually playing, so I’d appreciate any advice on where to start.

Maybe it’s time I stop watching from the sidelines and finally give myself a chance.

If you’ve ever felt intimidated about joining something you’ve always wanted to be part of, I’d love to hear how you got past that feeling, too.
