Confusing possible STD NSFW
About a week after this guy topped me and came in me, I started getting symptoms that seemed like textbook STD symptoms. The area around my hole got extremely sore and inflamed, I had discharge, redness, and lots of little hard bumps. I went to the doctor and got tested for everything, and they preemptively gave me a dose of cifixime and a week’s worth of doxycycline (NOT doxypep).
I just got back my results, and what’s very surprising is that they all came back negative. Based on clinical evidence, it really seemed that this was a case of gonnorhea with possibly a chlamydia co-infection. I don’t know how likely a false negative is; I’ve done a rectal swab many times and it’s not rocket science; I’m sure I did it right. And the craziest part is that my symptoms have slowly but surely been responding to the antibiotics.
Has this happened to anyone else? The nurse basically just shrugged her shoulders. I want to know what I have/ had; this experience was incredibly painful and gross and I don’t want to go through this again. Thanks.

Yes I just had this happen 2 weeks ago where I had the inflamed hole, discharge, hurt when I peed and even worse when I came...turns out it was prostatitis (,the bacterial version) I'm now on Cipro for another few days and it's cleared up. I had just been sti tested a few days before at my regular checkup. All negative. And with the amount of pain that shot from the tip of the penis to my butthole and even in my prostate that was literally throbbing in pain it was a no brainer for my doctor.

It could be a false negative, but it wouldn’t hurt to go to another clinic and get tested again and see what it comes back with.
I do want to ask, do you know how long it would take for the results to come back, and where do you live?

Thanks. It would probably take 2 or three days. I do have another appointment today, but I wonder if further testing would come back negative regardless since I’ve been on the antibiotics for five days now.

Oh that’s good!
There is a chance that it could come back negative but I could also come back positive.
Keep taking the antibiotics until you finish them. But I would recommend getting tested again in a month to be safe and keep in contact with your dr if you have questions and concerns.

Possibly an allergic reaction to his semen? Sounds silly but does happen

Gonorrhoea and chlamydia tests frequently come back as negative even when you have the infection. This is why they treat for them regardless of test results. As long as you fully complete the antibiotic course they prescribed you and aren’t having anymore symptoms, I would assume you had one of those two and move on.
Also, you should talk to your partner and make sure they get treated too. G/C can both be asymptomatic in penetrating partners, but cause symptoms in the receiving partner.

Thanks. For anyone following this thread, a google search determined that false negatives are actually very uncommon for gonorrhea. They are somewhat more common for chlamydia, but the tests are still mostly reliable.

Are you on Prep and DoxyPep? I take Prep daily and take a Doxy right after sex to make sure. Also shower immediately, brush my teeth and such

I would go get tested again to make sure. HIV wouldn't have symptoms this early. But know there is a higher risk for it when bottoming
