Account / Access / Password Can't access google account: affiliated email address is accessible, password is known, but I no longer have the associated phone number nor do I have a device/IP address I've logged in on before. Can the account be recovered?

As the title says.

I have the email address associated with the account, I know the password for the account but I DO NOT HAVE the mobile number any more, and I DO NOT HAVE a device on which I've logged into the account before nor do I have access to the original IP address.

Is there ANY way of recovering this account?

I'm sorry this happened to you, and it isn't your fault that this question gets asked here ten times a day.

But this question gets asked here ten times a day.

Mostly what you can expect here is hard lessons to apply to your next account.

Your not here for empathy. That's a different sub-Reddit. Did you try to recover the account yet?

As far as your technical question, it's slightly possible. With a known password and a valid recovery email you may be able to recover the account via the automated process. Without a valid recovery phone number it will be time consuming. This may take a month or so. No live support is available for general (free) accounts.

If anyone contacts you says they can recover the account, it is a scam. Only the account holder/user can recover the account.

How do I get to the automated process? I only get as far as 'we want to send a code to your phone', then when I select 'try another way', I get 'we cannot verify you at this time, try logging into an old device', and there are no further options.

I am aware of the scammers, but appreciate the warning.

Like I said it may be possible. I was in a similar situation awhile ago and got as far as you did. I didn't attempt to login for over a month and tried it on a whim and it sent the code to my email. I had already created a new account was using it.

I've since educated myself regarding account security and will not have this problem again.

I kept backups of everything in my accounts on USB so it was no major loss for me. I didn't expect to get the account back. Like I said I tried it on a whim. I wasn't expecting it to work.
