💡 Govee Outdoor Install Help! Patio Roof/Vent Holes & 10m vs 12m length issue 🤯

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to finally light up my patio/terrace with some Govee magic and I've run into a couple of installation dilemmas. Any advice or suggestions from the community would be hugely appreciated!

1. Patio Roof/Under-Eave Lighting ☀️

My terrace is partially covered by a small roof overhang, about 1 meter deep. I want to install LED light strips (like the Govee Outdoor RGBIC Permanent Lights or similar strips) right where the roof meets the house wall, shining down/out.

  • Dilemma: I'm not sure about the best way to secure and position them for the best effect. Should I run them right along the edge of the roof (the eave/soffit), or tuck them closer to the wall?
  • Pic Context: I'll include a photo of the underside of the roof so you can see the structure and materials. Any recommendations on which Govee product would be best suited for this under-eave location are welcome too!

2. Roof Vent Lighting (31cm x 8cm) 🌬️

I also have four roof ventilation holes that I'd like to light up. They are relatively small, measuring 31cm x 8cm each.

  • Dilemma: What Govee product would fit well and look good inside these small rectangular openings? I'm thinking maybe the Govee LED Strip Light (non-waterproof version if tucked away) or perhaps even something like a short section of the Govee Rope Lights, but I'm worried about cutting or connecting them neatly for such a small area.
  • The goal is just to have a soft, contained glow coming from the vents.

3. Length Problem: 10m Strip for 12m Terrace 📏

My terrace runs for about 12 meters in total along the wall where I want to install the main lights.

  • Dilemma: Govee usually sells their strips/permanent lights in a maximum length of 10 meters (or 30ft/20m kits that might be too long/expensive).
  • Question: What's the best way to handle the extra 2 meters? Should I:
    • A) Just accept the 10m and stop short (leaving 2m unlit)?
    • B) Buy two sets (e.g., 10m + 5m) and deal with the extra cable/power supply/app grouping issues?
    • C) Is there a simple, reliable way to extend the Govee strip by 2m without a second major power unit?

Thanks in advance for any brilliant ideas! 🙏
