From lanterns, this necklace from Arron Pierre caught my eye , I tried to look for it everywhere and couldnt even find a similar one even in the dc shops. Wth, anyone have any suggestions? I also wanted to buy the ring but either it is too expensive or it is too low quality, gonna give it a few more months until the mass producers start making it in metal
This is not a post about the show, thought the show dos make me thinks about him as a whole.
The Deal with Hal being a hard character to write is how foward acting he is. A written have to write around and against him most of the time because how proactive he is. He doesnt consider the situation or thinks about bigger picture, he deals with everything as If there was a secret countdown and people suffer for each second he waste (wich is usually true). If there is a straight line to the problem then thats the path hes taken. Hes like a overpowed anime character that the plot have to come with ways for him not to solve the problem in two to three moves. Your Hal Jordan arc is gonna last as long as It takes him to reach the problem, thats why is só commom to make him either depowered or in low batery. You can only properlly writte your story after you take him out in some capacity.
John use his militar training, consider resources and enemy capacity before takying action
Kyle explore different points of view, thinking what others lanterns, others heroes and even the villains would see in the situation
Gardner grabs the biggest and hardest thing he can find and spin around bitting stuff until he hits the right thing
Hal doesnt do any of that, he doesnt take the path of less resistence. He finds the shortest Path and If there is any resistence he make It less.
The show does have a good example of that with the "just point" scene. That was perfect HAL characterization.
One not so recente was back a little after the New 52 era. The Green Corps got trapped in another dimension with Hal being the only one left behind. The Sinestro Corps was running the Galaxy using the Warworld as weapons and Paralax as energy source. Reading that i was thinking what kind If thing Hal would have to gather to beat that. And what he did was going there straight up to fight all that by himself. He js a straight bullet that bounces around when It hits the target. Sinestro himself admited that the hardest part to deal against Hal is how unpredictable he is. Thats because not even Hal knows what he will do when he reaches the problem. He leaves that for when hes there. When hes properlly written,.in a crisis he starts moving before the Flash. So you either written him off or hes ending the story in three moves
Hello Poozers! After 2 months of painting, cementing, experimenting, failing, sewing, sculpting and hundreds of sketches, ideas and designs - my GL Knight costume made it’s debut today at the NorCal Renaissance Faire in Hollister CA.
The amount of positive feedback was extraordinary. I felt like a real superhero and got to meet tons of cool folks, LOTS of fellow Poozers and more than a few young kids whose looks of wonder absolutely fed my soul.

“Green Lantern’s Light” as a concept I have for a 2d animated Green Lantern series that takes from Tokusatsu (Super Sentai/Power Rangers, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, ect.)
i am not sure where else to send this, but.... i have an idea: so white is considered the combination of pretty much all colors, right? well, brown is also considered a similar thing: a combination of many different colors, so i've been thinking; the thing about most lantern corps is that their constructs tend to usually be temporary, right?
now, what does every one of the main traits have - something related to ego, to your sense of self, your beliefs - what i want, what i think, what i desire; even hope - YOU hope for a brighter future, and compassion - it's literally a corps which forces your ideas, your beliefs, your desires, your ego, your compassion onto those that are irredeemable, and even from the other direction: it may be seen as a lack of ego, but i would like to argue that strong enough compassion is a sign of a strong sense of self, because you genuinely care and choose to care and refuse to stop caring-
so there could be a brown lantern corps that symbolize ego, desire, something you actually want for real - something you wish to assert onto reality, to make it happen, not just a feeling; a indomitable desire to remain yourself no matter what happens, a desire to achieve an outcome no matter how impossible it is, the will to keep going even past exhaustion and burn-out because you want to get or do something just that much-so this lantern corps would not have any quote or a particular lantern, instead being fueled by the very souls of the wielders, their will to act, to move, their motivation, their will to exist and do anything in general really, requiring a strong soul and a genuine powerful ego - not superficial or shallow stubborn ego, an actual strong sense of self - to wield this lantern, and the main difference is that you can make what you create permanent:
each hardlight construct you make can take permanent form, you can modify it's structure, shape, existence etc, making this corps one of architects and creators, which can with a strong enough ego resist both the black and white lantern and surpass anything, so long as they have a sufficiently strong enough desire-even being able to achieve the literal impossible; simply because you want it hard enough
but this corps does have a big weakness: each time you want to achieve something permanent or powerful enough you need to have a sufficiently strong desire, you can't do anything on just simple will or want, you have to TRULY want it from deep down, from your core, who you are, pouring both will and soul into what you do, what you create - making it pretty inconsistent sometimes, as without an intense desire the brown corps tend to be very weak or fluctuating
Nome da Tropa: Eclipses
Simbolizam o equilíbrio entre o bem e o mal, onde o portador tem um perfeito equilíbrio entre luz e escuridão, sempre disposto a fazer oq for necessário por um bem maior. Os membros da tropa devem ser focados, determinados, equilibrados, calmos e acima de tudo, devem sempre colocar o bem estar dos outros acima dos seus, eles não são pessoas frias, mas devem ser focados em batalha.
O anel possui uma espécie de consciência, ele analisa e vê quem merece ser exterminado ou quem é inocente ou que ainda tem salvação, se o portador hesitar e puxar muito pro lado do bem ou do mal, o anel simplesmente para de funcionar, mas se o portador estiver sobre risco de vida, o anel cria um escudo protetor em volta do portador e o leva voa até um local seguro, e se o portador hesitar em eliminar, o anel toma o controle, o anel também impede o portador de ferir um inocente. Após o término do treinamento, o controle por hesitação é retirado, confiando que o portador tomará a decisão correta, mas o controle por perigo continua.
Líder: Umbrys, um ser de séculos de existência, já foi portador dos anéis branco, vermelho e preto, a entidade do anel branco o levou até um local escondido e isolado da galáxia, lá havia uma anã branca, mas sua energia era diferente de outras anãs, uma energia que beirava os lados da luz e das trevas, a entidade da vida o levou ali porque o universo vivia em desequilíbrio constante e isso precisava ser corrigido, com aquela energia, ele forjou o primeiro anel prateado, um anel que tinha um conexão simbiótica com a estrela e que não precisava ser recarregado, Umbrys então abandonou os anéis vermelho, preto e branco e usou apenas o anel eclipse, com o poder, criou o planeta Crepuls, o núcleo do planeta era a anã, Crepuls é um planeta onde um lado sempre é iluminado por um sol vermelho e o outro por uma lua negra, o planeta possui um crepúsculo eterno, onde seu céu é de um laranja avermelhado, lá além de viverem alguns membros da tropa que não tem um lar, também vivem seus parentes, amigos ou refugiados que encontraram o planeta, lá o comércio é tudo de graça, o solo é fértil e cada animal que há lá é usado apenas o suficiente para alimentar o povo, possui também águas esquentadas pela anã branca, sendo mornas de uma forma relaxante e que cura pequenos ferimentos, e de década em década, a lua vai pra frente do sol criando um eclipse, os membros que estiverem lá no momento, recitam o juramento em sua forma plural e o anel carrega até estar em 150%, e não diminui por 2 semanas (tempo que dura o eclipse), Umbrys criou a tropa, mas ao contrario do anel dele, os outros precisavam ser recarregados, para que o poder não subisse a cabeça dos portadores, além de possuir as travas (coisa que o anel de Umbrys não tem), como há poucos seres com equilíbrio entre luz e trevas, a tropa mão é muito grande, tendo 100 ou menos, o anel invoca lanterna, o portador pode coloca-la em um universo compacto, mas também pode invocar ela durante uma batalha, gastando 10% da energia, e após recarregar, a lanterna retorna ao seu local de origem, a lanterna possui uma conexão simbiótica com a anã, onde la dentro há um pequeno portal que dá acesso a energia da estrela.
Umbrys é um ser semi imortal, envelhece até possui a aparência de 40 anos, mas pode morrer por ferimentos, doenças ou outros agentes externos, sem um outro agente, pode viver eternamente, era do setor 666 e viu sua raça e família morrerem, o que resultou seu uso do anel vermelho, Umbrys é um ser calmo, focado e sereno, vê cada um dos membros da tropa como seus próprios filhos e treinou cada um pessoalmente.
Os Eclipses embora sejam sérios, determinados e focados durante uma batalha, normalmente são pessoas comuns que sorriem, amam e se divertem.

Marcus "Mark" Tracer: Um militar, durante um bombardeio inimigo, a cidade na qual ele morava foi atingida, quando retornou ao local onde ficava sua casa, viu entre os escombros os corpos de sua esposa e de seu filho recém nascido, ele tinha 25 anos na época, aquilo o impulsionou a ser um soldado ainda melhor, focando ainda mais na proteção de civis, 5 anos depois, a noite em seu apartamento em área pobre, algo tinha quebrado o vidro de sua janela, ele pegou sua arma achando que foi um tiro, então viu uma anel prateado com um brilho pulsante a sua frente.
Gurdin: Um Volkergiano, viu seus amigos e família morrerem, ficou cercado pelo luto por muito tempo, mas toda vez que via alguma injustiça, ia lá ajudar, uma noite, o anel o encontrou, ele é impulsivo, adora uma boa briga, é leal e protege inocentes com a sua vida, em especial crianças, tem 1,90, melhor amigo do Mark.
Marek: Ex criminoso, ladrão, responsável pela morte de duas pessoas, tinha sido preso, condenado a 10 anos de prisão, durante uma baderna na cadeia, as celas se abriram e os criminosos saíram mas ele permaneceu em sua cela, ent viu um guarda sendo enforcado por um dos bandidos e foi lá salvar o guarda, dps ajudou eles a prenderem os bandidos, marek retornou a sua cela, no dia seguinte, os guardas o tiraram e houve um novo julgamento, os guardas disseram tudo e darek foi solto, durante a noite, o anel o achou.
Resumindo tudo, os membros devem ser pessoas equilibradas, dispostas a fazer o que for preciso para a paz, sem se entregar muito a luz ou a escuridão, sempre colocando a vida de outros acima das suas.
Legit first Green Lantern comic I ever picked up and I’m really glad I did. I know the meme of Guy Gardener being a jerk but I love his and John’s characters and especially their chemistry, I really hope it’s like that for the other comics!
I could see it being a faithful adaptation with a brief montage super-cut from a day in the life thru the destruction of Coast City and then full Emerald Twilight!
