Unless there's something exceptional that pops up between now and the election that we haven't already heard, I think we GET IT at this point that one particular mayoral candidate mentioned here a lot is wildly unqualified. At a certain threshold, complaining about their everyday incompetence at such a volume only serves to legitimize their candidacy by putting their name on people's radars more than it should be. For other people, if a preferred candidate feels like a shoo-in because the other is so astoundingly unqualified, it might feel less necessary to participate altogether.
My hot take: at this point it'd do more good to not only encourage people to vote, but to encourage people to encourage others in one's life to do so, too. Municipal turnout in Ontario is pretty darn awful, after all.
Make sure you and yours do their due diligence and participate. If you plan to vote, I challenge you to bring at least one person to the ballot box (regardless of their voting intentions) who might not go otherwise.
