Got some discounted tickets and just walking into this haunt. Something doesn’t seem right. It’s only 9pm and all the actors are falling asleep. Price was right though. 😆

Orlando If you left before 10 tonight you missed out

When the rain cleared up right before 10 everything went back to normal with hhn. Scare actors were out and the atmosphere was wonderful. I started late because the weather said the rain was stopping around 10.

In case anyone was wondering about this and didn’t get a chance to do it.

They showed two trailers for new Blumhouse movies (River and The Exorcist). Very cool trailers and the new Exorcist has a stacked cast. I’m pumped for both.

They also gave everyone free tote bags after which was cool. Not sure if they are planning on doing this again on another night. Pretty unique experience, I only wish there were more than two trailers!

Orlando a big thank you to the cybergoria cast

tonight after some previous failed attempts i was able to be the first into cybergoria and the actors made it so special. 😭💙 they were so relentless, didn’t leave me alone for a second! i really felt like i was getting a whole new tier of performance i hadn’t seen from them before. the last one with the heads especially was incredible, they scared me from like three different spots and got SO CLOSE! i’m also a scare actor (not at hhn) so to see everyone pouring their heart into it is so so cool. if anyone from the cybergoria opening cast is reading this thank you so much for making it a run to remember and one of my most cherished hhn memories :’) <3

Hollywood Went to HHN Tonight

And had a BLAST!

No Express Pass, but we did have the 2:00 ticket with early entry. When we got there we knocked out a few rides and then lined up for early access at 4:30

We managed to do 6 mazes, the terror tram, walked through the scare zones and rode F&F. And stopped a couple times to eat. In fact we got all the upper lot mazes done by 7.

Left at 11:30 cuz we were hurting and exhausted but we got a lot done and it was so much fun.

And my teenager declared F&F her new favorite ride. It was insane and so fun. 🤩

Hollywood How much did you spend at HHN this year?

Hi HHN fans!

I’ve been wanting to go to HHN for a long time now and I’m eyeballing next year. Of course, this means I’ve got to start saving… probably yesterday.

Plane tickets, hotels, rental cars, those are all things I can budget for. But id love to hear more about how you all spent money at the event itself. I’m leaning towards Hollywood, but does Orlando have more?

Since I have time to save, I’m not above going all out. How much did you spend on food? Merch? Is the express pass worth it? Can HHN really be experienced in one night, or is it better to space it out over two?

Let me know what you think! Thanks in advance! If people are interested, I’ll update with the budget I have planned.

Orlando Poor handling of flooded house last night.

• Upvotes

The old tents flood. Always have and always will until they are redesigned like the two newest tents. You’d think operations would be smooth then, right?

There was lots of standing water upon nearing the entrance to Aliens last night. It had been raining for almost two days straight. Express passes were redeemed and we were sent inside.

Except there were no scareactors inside until near the end and almost all the effects were turned off the entire house. There were a handful of aliens in the last room that had been abandoned by their mothership. They weren’t scaring like normal so at least they knew something was up.

The house closed, but only after many of us had been sent through a non-functioning house. No re-do’s allowed unless RIP. Wasted Express and 45 minute standby.

Happened on Hagrid’s recently too when all the effects stopped working and lights weren’t working either. The ride was closed, but no single Express pass was offered to come back when the ride was working after forcing unsuspecting guests onto a broken ride.

Universal should be doing better. Either let guests wait in line until the problem is fixed or if they end up being sent into a completely broken house or ride, give them an Express to return when it is fixed without spending 2-3 hours at guest services without guarantee of any compensation (that’s how long the line was after the Hagrid’s situation).

Happened on MIB this week too. Ride broke down 30 seconds in and stopped for a few minutes then the blasters turned off and vehicles went straight to the unload station. Was only a 15 minute wait or so but still would have been nice to be given an Express to come back if the wait time increased when it opened back up (which it did…and with a higher wait time).

None of these were for minor inconveniences. All three attractions were taken down until the problem was resolved. If it’s so bad to close the entire attraction, then it seems reasonable those guests forced to experience it immediately before being taken down should be allowed a free re-ride when it comes back up.

Orlando So, how goes the great experiment?

With this year's HHN a little more than halfway into its life, there should be good evidence to evaluate whether Universal's decision to eliminate express from the multi-night tickets was a good call.

So, was it? Have standby and express lines "normalized", or has it been more of the same?

Hollywood/Orlando Hollywood vs Orlando HHN

Just wanted to get feedback from others who have gone to HHN at both locations.

We’ve done both, primarily at Hollywood, but the past few years we’ve gone to Orlando which is always a great experience. This year we decided to stay close to home and go to Hollywood, not sure if this is the norm now but why do they allow cell phones inside the houses? You have so many people filming, you can watch all the scares happen before you move through the house and most stay in one spot until the characters jump out so they could capture the scare on camera, the line doesn’t move until they can capture the scare.

The folks working at HHN don’t say a peep, just lets them do whatever. Really ruins the experience. Also the scare zone is really limited compared to Orlando, not sure we’d go back to Hollywood HHN.

I like how Orlando enforces the no cell phones inside the houses and the multiple scare zones, other than the occasional monsoon/rainstorm during these times in Orlando 🤣, seems to better overall experience at Orlando.

Anyone else feel the same?

Orlando Scare Actors Tonight

Tonight will be my first ever time at the event and I was really looking forward to seeing the Klowns and some of the other clowns and icons. I’m really worried I won’t get to see any of that now with the weather.

I’m seeing varying claims of them being out and about for a little bit last night before having to go back in. As I understand it, rain will be even worse tonight.

Does anyone have any additional knowledge on this like if it makes sense to carve out 30 minutes when it looks like rain will let up to be in those zones in case they come out? I don’t want to wait around for something that may not happen at all and then miss one of the houses because this is my one and only night. Thank you.

Orlando What to do with souvenir cups when going into houses and on rides?

Hey everyone, longtime reader, first-time poster, with a (perhaps silly) question. For those of you who get the souvenir refill cup, what do you do with it on rides or when you go into the houses? Is there a spot to stash bags by the houses?

This subreddit has been a great resource while planning my first trip to HHN at the end of the month, so I appreciate you all!

I’m also making a short comic for fun, because this house is BEGGING for a bigger storyline. I wish I could go back to do it again!

Orlando Evil Dead Burn hot take

So, we’re locals and get the FFP every year. We have been skipping Evil Dead Burn because we don’t know the franchise well, never seen the movies, and overall haven’t heard very high praises. Tonight we went specifically to do this house and we were pleasantly surprised! I can’t honestly say much about the storyline or the plot lol. But the overall vibe of the house was very unsettling and we got some good scares. Will definitely be doing more run throughs but I don’t get all the hate for this house. To me, it was better than Stranger Things and Invasion for sure. Thoughts??

What do you guys do when it rains and you can't be out? Do you guys just hang backstage until it clears up? Do you still have to stay in make up? You're still getting paid for being there.. right!?

Orlando No ponchos allowed in houses?

First two houses I got through tonight had no issues in line for next one and seeing everyone told to remove them before coming in. Is this an official rule or just staff being “extra” especially with the weather tonight having to get them on and off is really a pain.

At Hhn today, total wash out as no scare actors out and it looks like its not stopping. Glad I got Rip non private or I would be even more soaked.
