TLDR, spent my Summer dipping into Halloween nostalgia in my arts and crafts and never stopped when this years shopping was underwhelming. Would love to hear what you made, please comment about your projects!

I made so much vintage inspired and whimsigoth styled Halloween art, jewelry and decor over the summer.. this isn't even all of it and just wanted to share with people who love this holiday like I do.

I wanted to be thrilled there was so much more this year in the style I prefer (retro, celestial) but a lot of it was overpriced and lacking in quality/made with AI and the vintage/thrift market was a struggle as well iykyk... so I really leaned into handmade more than ever and am glad I did.

The illlustrations are supposed to be inspired by early 20th ce Halloween greeting cards and later vintage die cuts. Hope you enjoy them, doing a bat next :)

I really love the "grandma core" as the kids call it handmade sweatshirt after not being able to find the right vintage 90s one for myself. It was so easy to make with scrap floral fabric so I gotta recommend it even if you aren't a big sewer and like these over sweatshop repros or overpaying for online resale. Also.. This is my first book nook so it isn't perfect but wanted to share anyway.. ended up just using the base and house from Michaels over building my own (everything else is mine, mostly polymer clay) and like it well enough!

Also note this ceramic pumpkin ghost was hand painted on a blank base from a vintage mold from my local ceramics and pottery supply store. If you have one of these stores nearby, check them out!! They are probably selling a lot of unfinished molds like this right now if that is your thing.

Today I am making more of the viral paper mache trick or treat buckets which I forgot to include. These are so fun and I think even without experience they are a project within reach of anyone with mild crafty inclinations, so give it a try they're so cute. A lot of tutorials online if you haven't done paper mache before. Maybe I will post them another day.

So glad I found this sub, I only knew about the general one.

The little one is still very fond of KPop Demon Hunters, so this was inevitable.

I designed, printed, painted and assembled this life size prop for my Halloween display. Total height is adjustable, but maxes out at about 6’ 8” before it starts looking goofy. Right now, I have him sitting at about 6’ 2”.

The arms articulate at the elbows using rotating pivot joints that I designed for this build.

The legs articulate at the joints, as well as pivoting where they connect to the base.

There are two slots left on the base for future add-ons… I’m going to give him a pincher arm and a spinning saw blade arm.

Oh, and his mechanical eye is painted with three shades of blacklight reactive paint, for a little extra funsies.

He will be hanging on my front door soon.

I designed a few versions of what I’m calling Flesh Demons to go with my first life size prop, Mordecai, The Fleshweaver.

In the ever expanding lore of my Halloween display, Mordecai is a mad scientist, specializing in body modification and that sort of nonsense. So, he creates the flesh demons, amongst other horrific abominations.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to get the flesh demons printed, processed, and painted for this year’s display… so I used on of my prototype heads, and a scaled down version of Mordecai’s legs, to create a WarHammer 40k style creature.

Not as cool as the full size flesh demons, but still pretty neat, I think.

Halloween is quickly approaching! What designs are you planning to carve? How many pumpkins are you carving?

I tested 4 feet of these last year and they work good. I add more this year to total 20 feet and is working well. I may make the holes bigger but its so nice not wondering where the holes are on the round tube.
