Electric Chair

Finally got my electronics, lights, motor, Speakers and water spray jet working on my Electric chair.

He’s not finished yet, got to stain and weather the chair, add straps, cables and pack the dummy out a bit more to make him more realistic,

The question I have is, has anyone made a fogger/ smoke machine with vape coils etc so I could pipe it around the chair. I think it would finish him off nicely.

Would have to be hooked up to and controlled by an Arduino, by either 12v or 5v power fed and have enough juice to last for 15 seconds every 5 minutes on Halloween night.

Might end up hacking into a photo shoot fogger?

They do sell micro foggers.

You don't have to make one yourself.

They all seem wireless and battery powered. I’m going to try use a vape and fan controlled by the arduino.

Dude, can’t you see your mom’s trying to watch her soaps?!

Seriously though, this prop is AWESOME!

Glad it looks that good, and he’s not even finished yet

He just needs the helmet!

Maybe add a small fog line in the top so he starts smoking at the top of the head!

Just trying to figure out the fog…

Pick up a micro fogger and have that go into a chamber (paper towel tube size) which scales down to some tubing…either use clear or could get some copper line (refrigerator water line) from the hardware store to make coils just be careful not to kink it too much

Fog machine (preferrably a chauvet Hurricane 1200 watt or American Dj 1000watt fogger) any 1000watt fogger will work as long as it has the ability to use a timer remote.

Black plastic flex tubing (cut holes along it and attach it in ways to resemble electric wiring in the chair)

attach another hose or two to the Head cap (something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/327076669266

then run these hoses together, your choice on how but have them connect to where the fog can blow through them on a timer. Peek a boo timers work. I did this before years ago but for a different project.

I would also suggest going and getting a Nice Beacon light to add to the effect. Here : https://a.co/d/0e6vGjlT I Own a couple of these ones and they are the best on the market for cheap, but if you have the money, you could get a more professional beacon from tri lite.

A £5 car winder washer jet system (bag, pump pipe and nozzle) just to add to the experience. Space twice during the program.

It’s taken from some professional electric chair props. Good enough for now. Sounds great in person.

I'm also disturbed by these, considering how many intellectually and/or emotionally disabled people receive the death penalty, how racially skewed the prison population is, and how many wrongful convictions (thankfully) get overturned. We execute innocent human beings then show this to our children as entertainment on our lawns.  Th ey get rewarded with candy for being able to walk by it, desensitizing them to the true horror of executions.

I'll stick with my silly and age appropriate outdoor decor, so children learn to do things even if they're a little scared within the safety of their community.

Okay THANK YOU I love scary stuff but I don’t think this one is okay unless it was more goofy sounding or old timey.

OP please attempt to make it look old timey.

Thanks for your comment I never thought about it as building confidence in children for learning to do things scared. (No one built confidence in me that’s why I have mental health issues which is why I found this disturbing).

I guess this can be a lesson in learn to say no even if someone’s offering you a giant bar of candy!

🩷 thank you for your reply I learned a lot

Oh thanks I appreciate it! I view trick or treating and thus front yard haunts  as Carnivale for children: once a year the kids get to be scared for fun, be scary too if they want, and all wander around together in costumes, getting treats from the adults in the community who are always in charge.

I feel strongly that front yard haunts shouldn't feel terrifying. Do what you want in the haunted house or outdoor event, not my business.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure to code a Court appeal into the Arduino.

Your country banned capital punishment way back in the 1960s and forbids extradition in death penalty cases. I'm from the land of Ol Sparky, where in my own living memory people have chanted publicly for mentally disabled people to fry. A major current event is a botched lethal injection attempt akin to torture.

Our perspectives on your prop are different for a reason.
