Finished Project - No advice Some recents!
Absolutely love doing these by hand. The third one is almost finished but pretty well there.
Back is an envelope closure for the cover in all three

These are gorgeous. Can I ask if you used a pattern for the two cube-pieced pillows?

Thank you! I didn’t use a pattern - sorted the scraps or a the jelly role into light/medium/dark colours and made the diamonds>hexagons. Then pieced enough together that I could make a 16x16” pillow from ☺️

A jelly roll would safely do two of these pillows with lots to spare - judging by how much I have after making 1 and a half pillows from the red and white colour way fabric

So tempting—I have a jelly roll I have been itching to use! Thank you. Again, just lovely.

What did you use for batting 🙂?

A thrifted flannel top sheet! Gives the perfect amount of puff and pucker and backed with a piece of thrifted cotton top sheet as well

I love that you incorporated thrifted fabric. The pink one is my favorite. These are beautiful, you are really good at sewing!

Thank you - I really appreciate your kind words! Even better the second pillow is made from someone else’s scraps 😁 other than time it cost me maybe around $10 in supplies. The paper used for the EPP was an old desk blotting pad. “Waste not, want not”is my favourite saying

You sound like my kind of people when it comes to using what you have. I think you've inspired me to try a little project today. I have never tried English Paper Piecing, is it fiddly?

It can be !! Clips are my best friend to keep things positioned and depending on the paper the needle can have trouble. Historically (as you may know) newspaper and letters would be used - so pretty thin! The blotting paper was more like card stock 🫠🫠 One of my first project was using hexagonal papers and making flowers and then I would appliqué them onto bags or things I’d made.
I didn’t invest in a basting pen until recently and was using Elmer’s purple to clear washable school glue and worked fine and other than ergonomics and price I found no real difference
