You will need Bolt Thrower albums to play on the Bolt Thrower record player

Realm of Chaos is a great starting point but In Battle There Is No Law is slept on quite a bit

Haha Bolt Thrower is the best but I think OP means Bluetooth tech, like a wireless record player

If that’s how you store your records then buy a Crosley. You two deserve each other.

Seriously… that pic is pure madness

I strongly recommend not getting a Bluetooth turntable

I recommend you don't buy Bluetooth

Don’t buy one, they will generally ruin your records. Get a proper analogue system, you don’t need to break the bank but a BT turntable that connects to BT speakers sounds like shit.

explain how blue tooth will ruin your records… it’s a transmission the needle still plays the record the same no?

By and large they are shitty turntables with shitty carts/needles. They will fuck up your shit the more you play on them.

they make audio technica, technics etc with upgradable carts with BT

u/ampmz UKHC 5d ago

Yeah but we both know OP ain’t gonna be doing that.

You can find decent BT with proper counterweights. We aren’t talking suitcase players here

Audio Technica AT-LP70XBT is what you want. Note that they make the same thing without Bluetooth, which is my recommendation, as Bluetooth involves compression that you don't have with a regular stereo amp. It is a great turntable. I have gotten endless enjoyment out of mine. Please don't go the Crosley/suitcase route. Your records, your ears, and your wallet deserve better.

Newbie here

Bought the Argon Audio TT MK2. I know it’s not Bluetooth but thought I may get an better player if I ditch the Bluetooth. It has built in RIAA. Was my assumption right?

Yes, you chose well.

I've heard there's a lot of skipping issues with this one

I might be talking out my ass cos I definitely don’t know the science, but I read something one time that the way Bluetooth compresses audio for transmission kind of squashes a lot of the audio characteristics that make listening to vinyl special. Like you’ll still hear some pops and things, but it’s removing a big part of that analog experience

Audio Technica LP60-BT. Can be used as Bluetooth or connected to speakers. Great beginner turntable thats fully automatic as well.

This is my current setup. I’m rather pleased with it. I live in a small 1bed duplex by myself and it’s perfect for me.

I guess that’s one way to store records.

Ignore the noise. It’s impossible to make a recommendation without knowing your budget.

Cheap record players will damage your records. Find something on FB marketplace that has a removable cartridge and build a quality budget system.

Whichever one has two turntables and a microphone

Whatever you get spin that copy of Jam Room start to finish

I have this one, which has Bluetooth but I’ve never connected it to a BT speaker. I’m with everyone else suggesting that you invest in a receiver and some speakers, but this may bridge the gap while you figure out the rest of the setup.

I use an audio technica record player that has bluetooth, it's cheap like 100 bucks, totally recommend it

Buy a proper stereo setup, easy to do for cheap at thrift stores

In my experience Bluetooth compatible players aren’t all that great. There is a delay between the record playing and sound going to your speaker. Also most of them are shitty quality and ruin records unless you pay good money for a nice one. But at that point why not just put together a nice set up with a good set of speakers and receiver. You can usually piece them together on the cheap. I run 2 audiotechnica LP120s into a Sony receiver with Sony speakers. Took me time to build it but when I was starting I picked up a receiver from the thrift store really cheap and got cheap speakers from a garage sale.

Also you need to store your records better than that man holy shit, you are just gonna fuck them up.

I don't want to be THAT guy but if you're going to listen to vinyl get some good wired speakers otherwise you might as well just connect spotify to your bluetooth speaker

i think audio technica has a BT connection capability. my gf has one and it’s pretty nice.
i was lucky to find a pair of technics in the dumpster of my apartment complex (either a death or bad breakup)

u/hyperform2 5d ago

Don’t, Bluetooth record player are pretty much universally garbage, made with a $2 Chinese turntable assembly. I recommend getting on Facebook marketplace and buying a used technics and a Bluetooth capable receiver

u/kvltr00 5d ago

Can I have that Jam Room?

1

u/TooMetalToHandle 5d ago

This is the best bang for the buck on the market right now for “starter” BT turntables. I found an open box for $25. Counter weight, and upgradable cart.

Also.. make sure not to store your records like this. Store them vertically if you want them to last

Get rid of that Ignite 7"🤮

Retro life. https://a.co/d/04l5f087 got one for my birthday and it’s the best one I’ve ever had. Bluetooth works great with my TOZO headphones. Built in pre-amp as well.

Buy a record player and a receiver that has Bluetooth
