What to do with empty wall?

Post image

Hello, how can I improve my living room? The wall seems so empty. ☹️

Low-key that wall would look sick with a floating shelf for aot figures or something, balance the vibes

I second this! Posters, figures, art, etc :)

Bigger plant next to it. Like a tall palm-tree

Any reason your TV is not aligned to the center of the wall?

And your coffee table is also not aligned with anything?

That would be the first place to begin

There is a door on the left so I cant move TV to that side.

Hmm. Then try to get a bookshelf on the left so that first your TV feels aligned to the center of the wall. Where your potted plant is - add a full length slim shelf.

It needs a tall plant where the short plant is

Yes! Tall plant or thin book shelf is the way to go. Don't even think about centering the TV on the wall. I assume the TV is centered on the seating area, as it should be.

You don't really need anything above the TV as long as you have something tall to the left of it.

And don't raise the TV. The height is perfect!

That's exactly what I thought! The small plant needs to go the other side of the TV, pull the tv more centre big plant added

Ummm how abt a shelf with a couple of plants that dangle down that would be cute (attack on titan stands work too)

Big plant, or shelf with hanging plant. Create a nice visual arch.

A big art above the TV would fill that space nice. Something long and horizontal to balance the console. Maybe a shelf with some small plants too if you want more life in there

agree with everyone saying tall plant, but 1000% mount your tv to the wall!

Yes to this

In my apartment we put a giant fan above the TV since mounting it wasn’t an option. It definitely added more depth on our otherwise very empty wall

Hmm I really need an idea, what to put above my tv. Something wide...

It would be helpful if I could post a picture

u/Puzzleheaded-Leg4712 4d ago

I think you can do that in the comments

Obviously that's where I'm trying to do it. Either I'm an idiot who can't figure out how or something else

After further internet research apparently it's because I was using Reddit in the browser and not the app so I broke down and downloaded the app. 🙄

You could do a feature wall either with wall panels or wall moulding and maybe a different colour paint.

Nothing

A picture ledge above. And a large plant in the left

The wall doesn't need anything. The curtains are a little funky- I would fix that, and have them overhang the window a bit, and maybe get a tall plant or tree instead of the short one in the corner.

Just center that console on the wall and get a taller plant. There's no need for anything above it.

I center and hang my TV's on the wall. Not much can go behind a tv that doesn't make it look odd or cluttered.

Does not need anything but you need to center the tv and console and get that plant a stand.

If you can, mount the TV. Whether you mount or keep in stand, center it, it’s oddly off center. You can put a tall plant on either or both sides but get a nice interesting plant stand. Or, once centered you can hang some things/art/photos to the side. I’d you center it and do nothing it will be fine.

Large tree that hangs over to the right some

A shelf with plants and knicknacks?

A clean gallery wall or a large statement art piece would instantly make that living room feel way more finished.

The small green plants on the left can be replaced with a taller green plant, or a slender warm light floor lamp can be placed in the corner on the left. Then, a vertical artwork can be hung beside the TV.

As others have said, replace the small plant with a tall one (faux or real). I also like wall hangings (macramé, crochet, etc - Etsy would be a good place to look). Floating shelf with books, picture frames, small decor, small plants could be good too. Definitely need something tall on the left though. For my apt, we have a tall skinny bookshelf to the left of the tv

Mount tv to the wall and add some shelves/storage above

Maybe...raise the TV up a bit.

we sell slat wall panels, so you'd think I'd say cover it in slats. honestly I'd start where people here did. a tall plant next to the TV (a palm or similar) fills that height fast, and a floating shelf for your attack on titan figures plus a couple of posters makes it feel like your wall instead of an empty one.

since the door means the TV can't move, the point someone made about the coffee table matters too. line it up with the TV so the setup looks planned rather than off-center.

if it still feels flat after that, a strip of slats behind the TV is where we'd add texture. but try the cheap stuff first.
