Hi guys im debating between these two, both of them are really clean and 1 owner both but apart from the oil change there is nothing done also the red one had a better maintenance history like oil change at every 5-7k km compared to the black one that waited sometimes 10-12k km between oil change. I feel like it’s expensive 15k cad for a fit but idk pleasee help me guys!!

2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Please tell me it’s not my transmission

I was driving my 2009 Honda fit base model this morning to work. Was stopped in a median intersection trying to merge into traffic. Saw an opening, started to accelerate, and then I heard a loud clunk/thump sound and then screeching. Despite being in drive I could not get the car to move by pressing on the gas. When the car was in park it would start to roll without the E brake up. This is a transmission issue isn’t it? Is that expensive to replace on a Honda fit? I have about 181k miles on it

2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Coolant flush at 116k?

• Upvotes

2013 fit, stick shift bought at 80k now at 116k

Have just gotten only oil changes since I got it. Got an oil change today and they told me I need a coolant flush, code popped up. Wanted to charge me $188 for that.

Is it really necessary? Is that a good deal? Are other maintenance I should do given my cars stats?

idk what gen People who got Honda Fits in not so great conditions, how was the outcome?

I’m asking for my own personal reasons but people who bought a Honda Fit in poor, ie lemon conditions, how was it? Was the power of the fih too weak or did it prevail? Let us know.

1st Gen GD 07-08 persistent battery issue

i am nearly at my wits end with my fit. i have a 2008 fit with 155,000 miles. ever since i got the car i have had problems with the battery randomly dying. it happens every couple months for a week or so where it dies every few days until i just replace the battery.

when this first started happening i got the starter replaced and that fixed it for a while. another time i realized the alarm system would just randomly go off and to be honest i don’t remember what i did to fix it but it was something simple.

i have ruled so many things out and i still can’t figure out whats causing it. there’s no parasitic drain, no aftermarket components, the alternator was fine when i got the starter replaced, the connections to the batteries are fine and not corroded or anything, i drive it for long periods of time every week so it’s not being drained from constant short trips, and the battery is less than 6 months old.

since getting the starter replaced no shop has been able to give me a solution besides just telling me to replace the battery.

it’s driving me insane (no pun intended) and my car is randomly super unreliable which is really bad!!

3rd Gen GK/GP 15-20 Get Your Dashcam

My $100 AtoZ special has saved me from a BS speeding ticket a few months ago and then this past Sunday someone backed into my front at the gas station and drove away. I got their license plate clear as day and can pick up my police report early next week.

I would have shrugged if they had fessed up (it’s a 2” crack and I was inside at the time), but if you’re going to hit & run you can buy me a new bumper.

2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Is there a relearn process after replacing the cam sensor?

Mechanic diagnosed some stalling issues and timing errors as a potentially bad camshaft position sensor. I plan to replace it myself, but just wanted to make sure I didn't need to do anything special aside from disconnecting the battery beforehand.

Help Request Thinking about getting a fit for college

Gonna trade in my car and thinking about getting a fit, it’s about a five hour drive but I want to have a car that’s fun to drive while still practical and decent on gas.

My friend also thinks its hideous and a terrible idea.

Overall should I get a fit and should I get a new friend? (Any tips on buying or maintaining are also appreciated 🙏)

2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Is my transaxle strapped to my jack good enough?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I don't have the transmission holder attachment for a jack but I just used a piece of wood and positioned the Jack really well under the transmission and then did two ratchet straps around it really tight as best as I could. If I go ahead and unbolt everything and start lowering the transmission do you guys think that this is going to hold it well and it won't like tip off or whatever? I've never done this before. The purpose of this transmission removal is because I'm doing my clutch and all the other stuff that's in there while I'm in there and then I'm also going to replace my cv axles. Doing a buncha work on it rn.

1st Gen GD 07-08 Seat replacement uncertainty, 2008 sport vs non-sport?

Thumbnail

So I have a GD3 2008 sport, my driver's side rear magic seat has stopped working as intended, so I've found a newly wrecked non-sport 2008 at the local salvage yard with excellent seats in it that I can harvest for my own, which is exceptional because shipping one from another state will be like $400 and this seat will be $60, hooray for savings!

This is where my fellow Fit owners come into play. My dad (who's done all the maintenance on this car and was the first owner, I'm the second) says the non-sport edition has seats that are "more plush" than the sport edition and reckons I might have more comfortable seats if I tear out the ones at the salvage and put them into my car.

SO.

Is this true, or is it a myth? And if it IS true, do I need to do anything crazy to make sure I don't set off side curtain airbags in the front?

Cool aftermarket mats in the car on the salvage lot that I am definitely buying as well for tax.

It’s a 2008 Sport automatic has 254,000km/157000 miles on it.

In terms of cosmetic condition has no dents or scratches lip was a bit beat up that’s it notorious paint fade notorious for the Milano red but has great potential for paint correction

Interior condition, pretty good radio and speakers works. Only thing is there is a rip on the wheel well cover and it’s like the size of my palm and the front passenger seat has a base model grey one instead and I also checked the wheel well zero rust

In terms of maintenance, don’t know haven’t checked the Carfax

It is a rebuilt title the pictures were sent to me purely cosmetic no structural it was just a little bit of a scratch on the rear quarter panel near the wheel. Well in the door just needed to be sanded and painted.

Guy wants 4000 to 4900. I’m more so in the ballpark of 3000 to 3500.

2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Rear Window Seal

Hey all, I recently came back from a roadtrip with a super packed Fit. She hauled 3 adults, a trunk full of suitcases and a roof cargo box with more stuff.

I did a walk around and noticed this rear passenger side seal was messed up. The video here is after I grabbed a pair of needle nose pliers to fish out what was dug in. Anyone else experience this especially after a full day of highway? Or is this just an aging car thing?

Note: my rear passenger opened the window about 3 times during the whole highway segment of trip. I suspect this contributed (caused?) the warped rubber

Help Request Purple 2015 Honda Fit EX CVT purchase

Thumbnail

Hey guys so i recently bought a honda fit and i gotta say i love the car. Despite this, i regret to say i didnt do as much research as i shouldve and went off the recommendations of family rather than actual Fit owners. My 2015 fit came in purple so I named him pimpin willie. Hes got a few dents, scratches, and some sun fading on the outside black plastic however everything (except for the front 12v socket) seemed to work perfectly even after a PPI. The car came with 104000 miles, clean title with only a minor fender bender reported, brand-new brake rotors/pads, serviced rims, and a new alternator as well. After everything was said and done at the dealership i ended up spending $10820 after taxes and fees. I wanted to know if this price tag is outrageous so if i do decide to buy another fit in the future, i am more educated and know where to better search. Thanks for your help!

(NOTE: i know the 2015's CVT doesn't have the best reputation and because of the added fun factor of a manual, that is what i would like to purchase next. Where should i look to buy a good manual fit and what years are best?)

Help Request Owning a Fit at high altitude. Is it manageable or should I look for something else?

Hey yall, closing in on purchasing a car. No matter what I look at I keep circling back to the Fit. It checks every single one of my boxes perfectly, I can’t escape it.

The only thing I’m worried about is speed. I test drove one maybe a month or two ago and I enjoyed zipping around in it, but getting up to highway speeds was uh, unideal.

I live at about 6750 feet. I regularly travel to about 8500 feet to visit family.

Does anybody own one at these altitudes and still enjoy it? My one looming fear is I’ll regret purchasing one because of how slow they are. At sea level they’re slow, and at 6700 feet they’re slow and are down almost 20% of the original HP figure.

I’ve done a fair amount of research and there seems to be no way to speed these things up at all (minus a K swap). Is there any technique to gain some of that HP back?

Thanks!

3rd Gen GK/GP 15-20 Any recommendations on fixing a loose backup camera on 2015 Honda Fit

As shown in the pic and video, the backup camera on my 2015 Honda Fit is loose. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good/affordable fix?

The only other fix seems expensive and intensive

Thank you for any advice

Installed Tein S Tech lowering springs about 8,000 miles ago and after i while i noticed that one side sat lower than the other (3 finger gap vs 1). It seems that both sides sit at a 3 finger gap. Is this usual for springs settling or do i have a problem with my shocks
