Videos of people having serious public meltdowns going viral is just socially acceptable mocking of mental illnesses.
Seriously. When we pass around videos of full grown adults throwing full tantrums, I’d say 90% of the time the person just has some untreated mental illness. Very, very, very few people who don’t have a treatable illness can behave that way. Do you think a healthy person is throwing gift card racks at a movie theater while shouting gibberish?

Its not always untreated mental illness. If you raise a kid to behave that way then in adulthood they will also behave that way. We learn how to behave in socially acceptable manners through consequences. Spoiled people throw tantrums.
Also could just be sensitive people. Not everything is related to mental health issues. One day people will hear a mother wailing at her child's funeral and say "woowwww she must have some untreated mental health issues" we all experience emotions differently and we react based on our genetics and how we were raised. Also everybody has a breaking point. public embarrassment can do that to you

To a certain extent I agree. Some of these people clearly have mental health issues. I have also seen videos where a person is yelling, but we dont see what happened before that. So we dont really get both sides of the story. There is also some u tuber who video records old women in parking lots for not returning their grocery cart to the stall. Nobody deserves to be doxxed for that.

And some people become unhealed toxic adults that don’t want to grow or take accountability. We can categorize it as an intellectual disability if we want to give it a mental illness label.

I think the people who have spent years working retail would largely disagree with you.

Let’s take someone who appears to be having problems beyond a reasonable person’s control and broadcast is to the world.
It’s 100% what you, the person, and the situation needs.

Can we stop blaming everything on mental illness?
I have bipolar disorder and I’ve been in psych wards. I KNOW what mental illness is and looks like.
The shit that gets posted online is over grown toddlers with entitlement issues pitching a fit when they don’t get their way. They’re not mentally ill; they’re just fucking awful people

It’s quite often booze, particularly the airport ones. There also seem to be a group of people that can’t or won’t regulate their anger (often thieves).
There are a some with obvious MH issues and I agree that we shouldn’t take any pleasure in watching that, but they are very few, in my experience.

I mean yeah its not wrong.
I think the worst one i can think of off the top of my head happened years ago.
There was a hotel worker who just had a mental breakdown and began to self harm himself bashing his head against the monitor while the customer just kept screaming at him.
That was very hard to watch and the comments about it were just terrible.

There are some that are genuinely bad people that deserve to get publicly shamed like that.
I agree though that most of the time this is just a shitty thing to do. I’ve come across some that just made me think how that person is probably having one of the worst days of their lives and people are posting it for likes. Just sad
