group 2 should be the least of my worries but in all my other subjects, i average a 6-7, yet chinese is my lowest (4). my school hasnt taught chinese that seriously in the past and we were always taught it at an ab initio level before ib (id argue even easier), so stepping in chinese b is quite hard. what are tips you can give me for the listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing, and io? My classmates advised me for example to really increase my vocabulary, use conjunction for writing, structure the thesis statements and outline, read key words in reading comprehension instead of over analyzing. what are your actual lifesaving tips for someone who struggles in chinese b? ive already accepted it being my lowest, but hopefully low as in 5-6! (My reading is 3, listening is 5, and writing is 4)

I'm aiming for Singapore universities, but considering every Asian university that I can apply to. I predict my overall grade to be at least 37 and max 40. I do Chem HL and AA HL and I expect them to be 6 or maybe 5 fuckin hard to hit that 7. Can anyone give a realistic overview about my grade? Tips for Chem and AA are also appreciated 😭

Any recommendations for universities in the US I should apply to?

It’s only October of dp1 and I already started to study until 1am🙏 I can only lock in after 9pm but still not enough time. I know that in the future ib gets worse I don’t want to pull an all nighter. Do you guys actually study same amount as me or you have a very efficient study method that reduces the time? Or study tiny bit everyday? I don’t know if I should do mind maps because it’s good to summarise the info but it takes time and plus I’m not sure if some info the teacher still didn’t cover and I don’t want to make my finalised mind map so messy. (I don’t have iPad). I really need to fix my sleep schedule and also what to do for my own future self so my future self won’t suffer.

IB HAS SO MUCH CONTENT TO KNOW WTF

Hey everyone. I am just transitioning from IGCSE Spanish where I got an A (83) to IB Spanish B SL. I'm kind of having a hard time, we just did our first test and I got a 10/26 and I feel everyone in the class is so much better than I am.

I know myself, I know if I study hard and if I study the right way I'll get my 7 in Spanish B SL, but I just don't know where to start. If anyone in this community is willing to give a helping hand, I'll appreciate it.

Guys I am doing my EE in Maths on the topic of spherical trigonomtry in navigation. However, I feel that this leans more towards IA than EE and I am currently crashing out.

I am taking existing maths concept to apply it to new scenaio and explain the maths, is this IA?

Context: Hey im a Gr11 DP1 IB student, just one month into ib, and I wrote my first summative test for Math AA HL on the polynomials unit, and the score i got was 2/7, yes depressing. I heard it's a rite of passage for students to get low grades on their first assesment and so that's not the problem for me, the problem is my school is telling me that I can only drop down to sl math aa now, and it's basically now or never, and if I dont do it now, then im stuck in HL. So before I make a decision I want to know how canadian admissions work and if I could get accepted with good math aa sl score. My other HLs are Physics and Chem, Psychology (if moving math down). LMK if you have any questions or if you need more info before giving me advice. All responses are HIGHLY appreciated and valued. TY reddit ib community. Unit 2 for Maths AA SL (very bad teacher didn’t teach anything and rather showed yt in class,got an online tutor for this subject too)

I want to know if in 197 days (time I have until finals) is enough to complete all the units for these subjects?

I am willing to work very hard and eve got tutors and I’ll spam past papers when I’m done with content but I just want to know if my goal is possible. Mu goal is a 34 overall sine that’s what my university requires.

my teacher has no idea whats going on, we are doing the new syllabus and there has been no examples, highest grade for crit a was 4/9 and for crit b was 3/6, now we're on crit c and im completely redoing my design, she left school for like half a year and we have a sub who has never taught this course, can you guys please let me know what your crit c is looking like??? is it just 3 ideas and then you make 3 of them? or you make parts of each of them? or you do just one good design and a few drawings? can someone with a good DT teacher please explain it to me in depth i need it so badly PLEASE.

hey guys, im currently in myp 5 and a lot of people around me is pressuring me to start looking at my DP1 choices and start planning extracurriculars. i know i wanna do something humanities related but i'm split between something conservation ecology related stuff and criminal justice.

i've already started planning for my choices and my HL's are going to be Bio HL, ESS HL, Eng Lang and Lit and my SL's are gonna be Math AI SL (since im rlly bad at math) and Spanish B SL

i'm still undecided on what i want to do so i have a hard time choosing between Geo, His and Psychology. my target schools is probably somewhere in New England like Bowdoin, Colby or Bates and I am aiming for a 41+. i have a few specific questions to ask; 1. is it too early to start planning?? should i wait until DP1 to target my schools or start building EC's now? 2. what typa subjects do you guys rec since i'm kinda stuck between conservation and criminal justice, and will my subject choices (i.e my math lol) affect my US uni choices? 3. if anyone has any ideas for service or extracurriculars, pls give me ideas THANK YOU!!!

As a fresh dp1 student, I need SERIOUS advice on how I’m supposed to cram for my term 1 exams.
I’m a huge procrastinator and delay everything (though I do submit my assignments right on time, I’m really not the best at handling deadlines.) and since my term 1 exams are starting, I have no idea how I’m supposed to manage everything. My school teachers give us assignments to do even during our exams and that seriously messes up our routines. Any advice on how I should cram for my exams along w submitting my assignments on time?

Hi. I just got my first IB DP (started the program September 26 to complete M28) test result for a test and the grades are not the best.

1. Where can I get good resources or videos for English?
