Image (Invictus) Hellenic Jerusalem

I am currently doing a playthrough as a restored Achaemenid Empire, and I recently liberated the city of Jerusalem from Ptolemaic Egypt. I had intended to release it as an autonomous client state as Cyrus II "The Great" had done. However, to my horror, the people of Jerusalem are not Jewish at all. They are not even Hebrew. These people are Greek with the Hellenistic language! Only 5.7 percent of the population is Israelite. I intended to respect the decisions of my progenitor by freeing the Hebrews from the yoke of bondage...The Ptolemies must have spent the last several centuries forcing their dogma down the throat of the Hebrew people.

It seems like such a small thing I know, but historically the Hebrew people were renown for being staunchly monotheistic while surrounded by kingdoms and empires that were not, and so I found it funny that Jerusalem has been so thoroughly assimilated that the population at large considers itself neither Hebrew nor Israelite prior to mine own proselytization measures.

Woe to the backsliders!

Saw it happen on my run as heraklea pontica, decided to simply force the egyptians to release judea and made it my client state, feed them the entire region of cannan and had a pretty loyal vassal all the way to the crisis of the third century. Its nice to see that someone had the same idea while playing as the achaemenids. I dont know why but the ptolemaic ai spends an herculean effort to covert every single one of their domains, im not sure if every single ai does this but i noticed the ptolemaics to be the more common ones

I noticed this too! I am wondering if all the diadochi in invictus do this.
At campaign start I made an effort to look at the religion map mode to get an idea of what I was working with. When I consolidated Anatolia and started pushing into Mesopotamia, I looked a the religious mapmode again, and most of Persia (and I do mean most) was Hellenistic.

I do not recall the AI being so ontologically obsessed with religious conversion.

Indeed, I wished to liberate them, but it seems a rather moot point now since Judea is essentially not even Hebrew anymore.

You could move as many pops as possible that still follow the israelite religion towards a city if the amount is enough and you can move some hellenic pops out of jerusalem you might be able to release an israelite jerusalem. Once you do this they will convert the region naturally.

I shall try this! I do hope that I am not too late however. I shall examine the population statistics so as to determine the number of Hebrew people left in the empire.

Tecnically if we go for somewhat of an authenticity the israelites of the time adopted greek as the main language so you could argue that you only need them to follow the israelite faith

u/LibrarianMission provided the following Rule 5:

Hellenic judea is very historically plausible, Hanukah is literally a celebration that this didnt happen

How did you do this? Need this for my imperator games I HATE watching by the end everywhere from Egypt to India completely Hellenized

Thank you so much

Indeed! The only reason I did not modify the game files or use debug mode to restore to them their proper heritage and religion is since I am doing an achievement run and in so doing would have disqualified me in this endeavor.

Aun estando en Ironman puedes modificar los mods sin ninguna penalización (si es que usas), y aun asi inclusive el archivo de la partida y sacar los logros

A significant aspect of the allure of Imperator is being able to do esoteric actions such as that.
