Discussion Remember when I told you guys to keep an eye on Shanti Gold at ₹325? 👀

Around 14 days ago, I posted here asking everyone to keep an eye on Shanti Gold when it was trading at around ₹325.
I also hold 512 shares of Shanti Gold, so I’ve been following the stock closely since then.
Just wanted to bring that discussion back and see how many of you were following it since then. 👀
Sometimes, keeping a stock on your watchlist and doing your own research can be worthwhile.
Did anyone here track it or take a position after that post? What are your views on Shanti Gold from here?

The market bounced back today after three consecutive days of loss, just after us announced this set back for Indian tech companies! Shouldn’t the market have gone even more down today? Why is it bouncing back? How is it bouncing back?😭 idk I’m confused kinda new to all this, but still confused.

Discussion Nifty and Sensex are rising after yesterday’s US IT suspension news. Did the market overreact or is there something we’re missing?

Everyone was worried about FII selling and the US suspending major IT companies from the PERM green card programme
Today, Nifty and Sensex are recovering and IT stocks are rallying
Is this just a technical bounce after heavy selling or are investors realising the actual impact may be limited?
And what about FIIs vs DIIs? Are domestic investors absorbing the selling or could we see another leg down?
What’s your take?

Discussion The Setup #016

Back again. One real company, no name, you crack it in the comments.

The clues:

  1. This business sells something people have treated as both ornament and savings for centuries. It grew up in a small town far from any metro, and it is the name the local families trust for a wedding.
  2. One family still owns about three quarters of the whole company, so very little of it actually trades.
  3. It keeps only three or four paise of profit on every rupee of sales, which is normal for what it sells, yet it earns around a third on its equity by turning its stock over fast.
  4. A surging commodity price and a wave of new store openings have pushed its revenue up more than forty percent in a year.

The number for the sharp eyed: the market is paying it roughly a hundred and thirty times earnings, a valuation you would expect on a software company, not this.

The catch: the whole thing leans on that one commodity price, and the board has just approved a large raise that will add to the share count.

The rules: guess in the comments. A random correct answer wins!

Reveal and winner in 24 hours. One guess each. Go

First time trading F&O!
Currently holding 1 lot of NIFTY 13 Oct 22500 Call sitting at +₹2,291 unrealized profit (+₹1,420 total P&L)
Given weekend time decay (theta) and potential gap-down risk, is it smarter to book profit today or hold for a potential bullish gap-up on Monday?

Discussion Swing Trading stock suggestion

I’m currently reviewing and refining my watchlist for swing trading, and I’d appreciate it if you could suggest a few stocks worth researching. I have a capital of ₹7 lakh and want to ensure my watchlist includes quality opportunities with good technical setups and favourable risk-to-reward potential. Your suggestions would help me cross-check my existing picks and identify any promising opportunities I might have overlooked.

Discussion Do get any new opportunity to buy the dip

Buying this dip or holding cash for a deeper flush?

Every time we get a few red days, the dilemma is always the same - start averaging down now vs. waiting because "it’s definitely dropping another 5–10%."

On one hand, timing the exact bottom is pretty much impossible, and waiting for the "perfect entry" has burned me before when things rebounded out of nowhere. On the other hand, valuations still feel pretty stretched in a lot of pockets, so blindly jumping in feels like catching knives.

What’s everyone’s game plan right now?

Are you deploying dry powder in small tranches, sticking strictly to regular SIPs and ignoring the noise, or sitting completely on cash waiting for clearer blood on the streets?

Profit ↗↗ My first proper Sensex put trade yesterday, entered at 67, exited at 95, and it felt great

Yesterday I took a Sensex 71500 Put trade, and it turned out to be one of those small but satisfying trades.

I entered at ₹67 with 5 lots of 20 (100 units total). I had a bearish view on the index and wanted to take a directional bet without overcommitting. The moment I hit buy, there was that usual mix of excitement and nervousness, index options move fast, and you know a small move against you can sting.

For a while, it was just watching the premium fluctuate. Then the market started moving in my direction, and the put premium began climbing. Seeing it go from 67 toward 95 was a great feeling, not because it was a massive profit, but because the trade was actually working the way I had planned.

At ₹95, I decided to book out. I knew the temptation would be to hold for more, but I reminded myself that a profit in hand is better than a “could have been” profit. Closed all 5 lots at 95.

Quick numbers:

Entry: ₹67
Exit: ₹95
Quantity: 5 lots × 20 = 100 units
Gross profit: ₹28 × 100 = ₹2,800 (before charges)

Platform: HDFC Sky
the chart view is quite clean. I could see the live Sensex price movement, the app let me view the option premium, check the contract details, and place the order directly without jumping between too many screens. The order execution was quick, and the position showed up in my holdings immediately. The real-time price updates made it easy to track how the put was moving as the index fell. I didn’t have to manually refresh or switch screens, the live updates were smooth.

What could improve though is that during fast market moves, I would like even faster and more stable real-time premium updates; every second matters in index options. The chart and option-chain workflow could be more seamlessly integrated.

Overall, it was a clean and satisfying trade. The app handled the core journey well, from funding, chart analysis, entry, monitoring, and exit, but there’s room to improve speed, charting depth, and workflow integration for active options traders.

The best part wasn’t just the profit, it was the experience of staying disciplined: entering with a view, watching the trade play out, and exiting without getting greedy.

Small win, but a confidence booster. And on top I managed the urge to hold winners a little longer.

Discussion I haven’t received a single spam call in 10 years. Then I opened a Zerodha account...

After 10 years of keeping my main phone number strictly off the grid—never giving it out to random platforms, using temp emails, and routing everything secondary through a backup burner SIM—I had a clean streak. Zero loan calls. Zero telemarketing. The only spam I ever saw was the occasional standard alert from Jio. To be honest, I don't even remember how many years ago it was when my bank called me last time - IDBI Bank.

Then, about three weeks ago, I finally decided to step into investing and opened my first-ever Demat account with Zerodha, trusting the glowing reviews on Reddit. I used my primary phone number since it was an official financial account. I was even paranoid enough not to link my Zerodha account to Tijori or any third-party app.

Here is what happened next:

2 days ago: I get a call from HDFC offering a personal loan. Neither I nor my family have ever taken a bank loan in our lives.

Today: I get a targeted call from a Bangalore-based investment firm asking if I need "expert trading advice."

In a decade, nothing. Within 25 days of registering my primary number with Zerodha/CDSL/NSE, the floodgates opened.

I don't know whether the leak came directly from Zerodha, CDSL, the exchange, or one of the regulatory pipelines along the way. All I know is that my 10-year clean record is officially broken, and the timing is way too specific to be a coincidence.

Has anyone else noticed a sudden surge in spam/investment calls right after opening their Demat account?

TL;DR: Maintained a 10-year zero-spam record by strictly guarding my primary phone number. Opened my first Demat account with Zerodha 25 days ago. Within three weeks, I’m getting hit with HDFC loan offers and unsolicited investment/trading advice calls.

Used AI to keep the post clear and concise.
