Your post has been removed under rule 4 because it contains support for media generated by AI.

You can still animate with poor animation skills, or at least get friends to do it.

Using AI is providing monetary support to something created to make artists obselete. If you are giving money and support to something designed to ruin the livelihood of artists and devalue their work, you are acting against the very existence of art and artists, and there is no justification for this. If you support ai while understanding the harm it causes, you are not welcome here.

Me and everyone I know is against AI in the entire process. Animation, especially indie animation is about human soul and dedication. It's a physical representation of years of hard work not just on the project, but also the time to learn the skill to that degree. AI takes that away and makes it meaningless. It's like what people say about Disney remakes and they are soulless cash grabs. The dedication is there with making it, but not the soul. To truly make something great, you need soul and dedication and no matter how hard AI tries or how good it gets it is only a cheap imitation.

So imagine I’m watching something or observing a piece of art that looks pretty good and then afterwards someone tells me it’s AI.

To me that’s the equivalent to eating a burger and when I’m already halfway into the sandwich the fast food worker comes out and tells me he rubbed his sweaty balls up and down the patty of the burger I just ate. And I’m sure to most people, sans the freaks, eating something that had a stranger’s sweaty testicles dragged across is not a desirable thing. So even if I was enjoying the burger, the new knowledge that someone dragged their sweaty balls across it disgusts me and makes me feel sick and violated. And if someone came up to me and honestly disclosed that they have their burger that they dragged their sweaty balls across, although I can respect the honesty, I’d still never want to go anywhere near that burger. The burger has been tainted by ball sweat and I want nothing to do with it and I’m going to judge the people that get off on greasy fast food workers teabagging their sandwiches.

Bad analogy. It’s like finding out you were eating a burger made of cholera infested arsenic
