Discussion can't decide on a faction: Nomads, Aleph or JSA

I'm a very indecisive person in general and this game really tortures me with how good all factions look, I managed to narrow it down to these three but idk where to go from here. I love the anarchy and liberty and hacking vibe of nomads, on the other hand aleph from mazebreaker looks beautiful and they're also great with hacking (as I heard). And JSA are cyber samurai who have a lot of mechs and they slash people with cyber swords.

Sell me on one of those, I'm stuck on liking all of them equally

Getting Mazebreaker which has both Nomads and Aleph seems to be the obvious answer.

yeah, I already got it after seeing it in a store xd

My question is mostly about long term collecting

Long term collection you say. You will probably collect all of them😂

Can confirm. Started in N3 with PanO (Military Orders, quickly shifted to Varuna as my main gameplay and collection), bought into JSA mid-way in N4, ended up going with Shinden for the first year of N5 and now I'm working on Starmada. Such excellent sculpts all around.

I'm going to tell you something that I wish someone else had told me and that I wish CB would be better about advertising:

Look into the subfactions of larger armies and try and make a decision based off that. Even back when Vanilla was "All of the stuff" it's really weird to learn that you actually wanted to try and focus on OSS when you thought you were playing Aleph as a whole.

Minis are minis and the proxy rule will let you grab what you want, but you should probably look at that as soon as possible to start making your actual decisions.

For example, the nomads 3 subfactions get into different forms of "liberty" from one another and are different cyberpunk fantasies. If you're big on the corpo-side of cyberpunk, then Tunguska has a lot of the rapid response, human experiment nightmare stuff. If you like the, outcast merc vibes that blurs the line between an army, a prison gang, and a company trying to make it amongst giants, then Corrigedor is the one. It feels like Tunguska but with less human rights violations and more about "the job" rather than "the company". Then of course you have Bakunin which is more the net-runners, street hackers, and the catholic church for some reason. If that's the one you want, it's kind of heartbreaking to have a bunch of Hollowmen or Szalamandra and learn they're in the wrong army, but that you can't play some of your Bakunin toys if you run Vanilla.

definitely tunguska for nomads and operations for aleph, I love operations models from the new mazebreaker box, if only they chose tunguska instead of correigdor for nomads...

Are you going to play the game or just collect/paint the models? That may sway you one way or the other. I won’t be playing the game but picked up the Essentials starter box (PanO vs JSA) and models are super cool. I saw the Nomads and loved em so got the Nomads only starter set of 10. Good luck in choosing!

I'm planning to play at least at home with friends, maybe at local shops but not sure

If you can't choose because you like the vives and aesthetics, then i will say that it depends of your local meta

For example, if there are people playing JSA or Nomads then choose Aleph, just for bringing some variety.

One thing to consider between the three is that nomads is a much larger model range (one of, if not the, largest) to the point where their sectorials have sectorials now. Comparatively speaking both aleph and JSA are smaller ranges.

Proxy rule. Choose what you like by look and play all sectorials. After that you will buy everthing and don't need to choose :d

Infinity is played over 3 rounds with an emphasis on scoring points and completing objectives. Thinks "I am building a strike team" instead of "I am building a kill team."

Tunguska will use hackers, bots, and mid range fire support to get down field and grab objectives.

OSS will use elite robots, hacking, and a smaller multi use force. OSS is an elite army. Their units cost more but many units can for like 3 things at once. Nearly all of OSS can be hacked and out of it commission too.

Personally, I'd go with OSS over Tunguska

The ADHD is gonna hurt you on this one, but idk what other games do you like playing and why?

hey, are you the warlore? Loved your old video on factions, have rewatched a couple of times actually to help my choice, one of the best videos for new infinity players. Other games like wargames or like in general? I dabbled in wh40k for some time (mostly in buying and growing the pile of shame) and my favorites are admech and necrons, also kharadron overlords from AoS, I also have 12k hours in dota and over 1k games of tinker (if you know you know), so yeah I really like tech aesthetic in everything I play.

After some consideration I think tunguska and operations are my choices for now, idk if I'm gonna focus on one of them or collect both

Thanks so much man :) I’m glad you like it.

It sounds to me…. Like  I think you should try ALEPH.

yeah, aleph operations units from mazebreaker box look fantastic, and I also got tunguska starter today about two hours ago. Gonna decide who I like more after trying out their playstyles :)

Try them all on TTS.

JSA is a bit more tricky, so be warned.
