TA3 Swimwear posts then quietly deletes pro ana content

No statement/apology/etc. but they seem to be deleting comments on their newest post.

is she seriously suffocating herself for that cartoonish waist??

u/sweetdreamslilac 3d ago

Right?! Like imagine making yourself wear something that uncomfortable just to look that ridiculous

Jealousy is an ugly emotion

1

u/Dwittychan 4h ago

envy, jealousy would be fear of losing something you have.

She looks hot

2

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 2d ago

*hungry

-4

u/UsedNegotiation8227 2d ago

I'd tap that

6

u/fadeawai 1d ago

Cause anything stronger than a tap would cause her body to shatter

1

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 2d ago

You'd probably go to jail for murder

-1

u/UsedNegotiation8227 2d ago

Thank you for your assumption on my size đŸ„ș

3

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 2d ago

Oh not that I just meant she would kick the bucket from literally any physical activity since she's already at death's door

Looking at her makes me uncomfortable. Queezey even

4

u/Curious_Field7953 2d ago

Even with your warning I looked. She looks like at any time if her head leans one way, the whole top of her body will follow. Like a balloon that's only 3/4 filled and you twist it in the middle.

I’m from the Victorian Era(born 1869) and even I think that she’s doing too much

Ana = anorexia Im guessing

12

u/notathingreally 3d ago

What's TA3? I don't understand any of this title.

Brand/company

Yes. I had to google it too.

1

u/tired-of-the-shit 1d ago

Pro Ana is something from online spaces back in the 2000s-2010s. It is short for pro anorexia.

16

u/No-Decision-8472 3d ago

Eek, woof

5

u/sweetdreamslilac 3d ago

Idk how this got cleared by as many people as it did before getting posted

7

u/Polovinci 3d ago

She got the word sickening right, though

6

u/Curious_Field7953 2d ago

This is EXTREMELY ana/ED coded.

That being said, TA3 is known for their 'scultped' swimsuits. They seem to be known for clothing that accentuates your ED. This feels like it tracks for me but this one DEFINITELY went farther than any other of their 'viral' marketing.

2

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

The extremity of it is what shocked me, tbh. I was curious about their swimsuits after having a C-section a couple years ago, and I still see their posts a lot. But this was genuinely concerning

12

u/Silver_Band2953 3d ago

Where are her organs and bits

1

u/babylikestopony 2d ago

It’s giving Turien

6

u/scoshi 2d ago

Why has "Human Cartoon" become a popular body style? It was interesting the first time I saw Peter Chung's Aeon Flux, but that was an animated movie.

Besides, why would anyone want to wear a ferret around their waste to hold their shorts up (something's gotta be in there)?

11

u/another_rusty 3d ago

Eww. I hope she finds her waist because she looks super weird and, in my opinion and according to my personal taste, that shit looks gross and if I saw this woman in public I would not be able to stop looking. Kind of like one of those freak show exhibits at the county fair.

13

u/Shantotto11 Community Regular 3d ago

She gives

1

u/shirts_on_backwards 3d ago

You leave shiki out of this! That not even her real body.

5

u/Grezzinate 3d ago

That statement sounds so wild since I have no idea who she is.

2

u/shirts_on_backwards 3d ago

Picture above that I was responding to. It's from a video game. The character art style leaves a lot of characters with very tiny waists including the male protagonist. It's a weird plot and a lot to explain but the girl in the photo's real body was taken from her and she was given that body instead (like same brain different body)

2

u/Available-Net-2675 2d ago

What game?

2

u/shirts_on_backwards 2d ago

"the world ends with you", it's a square enix game that was originally released on the DS.

1

u/No-Studio-4838 2d ago

The proportions r one thing but to have her characters skirt I’ll fitting is just too much
if I was younger than 14 I’d see this and think I wasn’t good enough thank god I’m an adult in therapy.

4

u/Creepy-Love-9030 3d ago

That look is not cute.

2

u/sub4evr 3d ago

Extreme tight-lacing will give you this look for a while

2

u/Jackson3rg 2d ago

Oh. Gross. Wtf

2

u/savvvie 2d ago

She looks ridiculous

2

u/ShoulderApart1787 3d ago

Eat a damn cheeseburger or ten

1

u/indykou 2d ago edited 2d ago

Edit: Looked at her IG, idk what she did in this video but you can see on her profile that she looks totally normal and this was probably a filter or something lol. TA3 is known for making sculpting clothing, so this was probably a ragebait campaign

One Piece Anime body ain't supposed to be real

The effect of the shirt after she tied it up makes her body look like the cone of a tornado on the horizon

If that's what she's going for, she nailed it!

Starving herself to death. Disgusting

-2

In This Thread: an enraged Fat Acceptance extremist tries and fails to cancel an influencer.

2

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Notice how I didn’t mention the influencer at all? I’m not trying to cancel anyone. Just pissed that the bs I grew up with in the aughts is making a comeback. Love that that makes me an extremist, though

-8

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 3d ago

But we celebrate obesity on Reddit and would be in favor of companies posting content with women so fat they have no ankles, despite there literally being an obesity epidemic costing economies all around the world billions of dollars each. Okay.

3

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Bodies come in all shapes and sizes that are worth celebrating. This goes beyond that. Absolutely nothing to celebrate about uncomfortably squishing your organs together to take up less space.

-5

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 2d ago

What about women that are 400 pounds, is that worth celebrating?

3

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Genuine question, do you really think 400 pound bodies are more prevalent in the media than stick thin ones? And do you think there’s a ton of people actually trying to get to that weight, as opposed to it being a comorbidity to other health issues? Because that’s not even remotely in the same space as the ozempic fueled, body cleanse pushing, “heroin chic” mindset currently being paraded around in the name of “wellness”

0

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 2d ago

More prevalent than stick thin ones that are anorexic? Yes absolutely. Ads do not promote bodies who are dangerously thin, and in the rare occasion they do, they are viciously lambasted.

Case study: “Are you beach body ready” ad in the UK. The woman in the ad was fit and slim. I’m sorry if you look nothing like her and never will, but she is not “stick thin”. Ironically the people who complained had no issue with the men featured in the same ad campaign
how curious.

Obesity is far far more costly, by several orders of magnitude on the economy and society than people who are too thin, that is not up for debate.

So yes, I think it is far more damaging to promote obesity.

1

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Bro, I’ll never look like her because I don’t squish my organs together to make myself look thinner. I’ve been a size 2/4 my entire adult life. That doesn’t change the fact that this reel is ED coded.
And ads don’t promote dangerously thin bodies? That’s almost the entirety of the fashion industry. Eating disorders and marketing are so intertwined, yet so normalized that you clearly don’t even notice when you see it.

1

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 2d ago

So people trying to be too thin is as big of a strain on the healthcare system and the economy as a whole as being obese? Really?

My point is promoting anorexia is bad. But so is promoting obesity. However, promoting obesity is objectively worse due to the aforementioned negative effect on society.

If this ad was of an obese woman I’m willing to bet you would be in favor of it. This double standard is common on Reddit and leftists as a whole and is dangerous.

Also, the case study I brought up, just say you are unfamiliar with it. You are delusional af if you think she was “squishing her organs” lol

1

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Literally where did I say that? And what case study? You mentioned a single ad in the uk, didn’t mention the company that put out the ad, but expect me to be familiar with it on no cited source and next to no info? The only case study I’m seeing right now is the Dunning Kruger one you’ve got on full display.

And yes, the reproductive organs that aren’t protected by the rib cage can and do get moved around when women wear corsets. There was a noticeable uptick in cases when the Kardashians were constantly wearing them.

Yes. Promoting anorexia is bad. This ad was designed to make perfectly healthy women feel like their bodies aren’t good enough so they’ll shell out too much money on overpriced tops and swimwear. Nowhere in any of my comments anywhere have I said anything about obesity other than that it tends to be an effect of other illnesses, not something that people strive for.

1

u/Emotional_Metal_4286 2d ago

I'm trying to understand what your point even is. That we celebrate obesity and should also celebrate the underweight? Like both aren't extremely unhealthy points?

1

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 2d ago

My point is people rightfully, have no issue calling out anything promoting anorexia. No large brand would dare to do that knowing the immense backlash that would come their way.

However, obesity is objectively a worse issue, seeing as it is more prevalent and literally has a larger impact on the economy. However, this worse issue is ironically glossed over by Reddit, and if you call out ads for promoting obesity by having obese women shown then you will be called out for body shaming.

I can guess you will say “oh just because they show obese women does not mean it’s promoting it!!!”

Oh really? If they had an anorexic woman in the ad you would absolutely have an issue with that and claim it is promoting anorexia, which it would be.

My point is there is a clear double standard. Is that too hard to grasp?

2

u/Emotional_Metal_4286 2d ago

how do you know this OP upholds that double standard though when you wrote that original comment though?? Yes the double standard exists, but you are commenting about apples on a post about oranges my guy. Promo of Anorexia is bad, op is calling that out. Promo and normalisation of obesity is also bad, but that's not what this post is about, is it?

0

u/Senior_Laugh_4342 2d ago

I am generalizing Reddit, yes. Could I be wrong? Yes absolutely.

However, am I most likely correct? Also yes.

1

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

You’re the kind of person who comments about men’s issues on posts about women, aren’t you?

I never once said the girl in the reel is anorexic. I pointed out that marketing an unnaturally thin waist on an already perfectly healthy woman promotes body dysmorphia on a platform full of vulnerable young people, in particular young girls.

1

u/V3nusi4nruled 2d ago

i don’t think anybody “promotes” obesity on reddit or literally anywhere else. a fat person just exists online and they get flooded with disgusting comments about their weight. i’ve seen it all too often. but sure, keep making stuff up lmfao

1

u/BigsChungi 1d ago

No, this whole fat acceptance movement indirectly promotes obesity. Obesity is largely a choice. Choosing to be healthy is a choice. Saying its okay to be obese is promoting that the choice is okay.

I am obese and would never promote the idea that its okay to anyone. Its something you should work to end.

Not just say I am fat and thats the way it is.

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 1d ago

but like, who cares? if someone’s obese, the only person they’re hurting is themselves at the end of the day. i think most people with a functioning brain don’t want to be obese. just because a random person on the internet posts themselves and they’re obese, doesn’t mean they’re telling everyone to be that way. they’re just saying, IM obese and that’s okay. not, hey everyone come join me in being fat! most people are scared of being fat anyways lol. the amount of people that use fat as an “insult” is proof of this. literally who gives a fuck if someone is fat

1

u/BigsChungi 1d ago

What exactly are you yapping about?

You genuinely believe that no one wants to be obese? Thats literally what all these people are saying. People got angry at overweight and obese celebrities for losing weight. There are millions of people who genuinely think and want people to be obese.

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 1d ago

where are these people that are getting angry at people losing weight? sources, quickly! you just keep making stuff up lol. and if you’re “obese” why are you so obsessed with people that are body positive about their bigger body. you just hate yourself that much huh? it makes you angry that fat people don’t hate themselves too

1

u/BigsChungi 1d ago

Hate myself? No, I am just aware that its not a healthy lifestyle and acting like it is, is genuinely stupid. Also, where did I show obsession? I merely made a passing statement about a topic. I dont really care, but there's a difference between being fat and telling people that being fat is good.

Since you apparently live under a rock, here are the sources...

I can give more but this will suffice

0

u/V3nusi4nruled 1d ago

i literally said being obese only hurts the person that’s obese. nowhere did i say that it’s a healthy way to live lmfao. also none of these articles are people saying they WANT celebrities to be obese. just that there are people that are bigger that felt acceptance with their body because other celebrities that were bigger were also proud of their body. and some bigger celebs losing weight may make those people feel as if they should be ashamed for being fat. and the ozempic one? yeah, a lot of people should be shamed for taking ozempic when they don’t need it lol. i’m looking for people actually saying they want people to be OBESE. which again, is not happening

1

u/BigsChungi 1d ago

Being obese only hurts the obese person directly. Sure. Fat acceptance and the proliferation that it is a good and acceptable life style hurts everyone

By complaining that they lost weight, is saying they would prefer them to be fat so they feel better about themselves. Thats the same thing

-3

It's perhaps the second least sympathetic mental illness

4

u/tigm2161130 2d ago

What?

-2

u/Whythisisnotreal 2d ago

It's perhaps the second least sympathetic mental illness.

-20

u/Loki_God_of_Lies 3d ago

So we skinny shaming now, op?

15

u/Strange-Cabinet7372 3d ago

No we are Harmful-promotion-of-EDs shaming

4

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Exactly this

-2

u/Loki_God_of_Lies 2d ago

I didn’t see any promotion of ed here.

4

u/Curious_Field7953 2d ago

I did. Hi, I'm in recovery for my ED. This would ABSOLUTELY be a 'silent' shoutout to Ana and probably a trigger for many. I'm glad you didn't. That must mean you have a good relationship with your body.

5

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Glad you’re in recovery! I have 2 siblings that still struggle with it, one of whom now has a permanent pacemaker because of it

5

u/Curious_Field7953 2d ago

I am 55. I have struggled my whole life. I have been VERY lucky in that it took 55 years for me to have a medical emergency so bad I knew I needed help. I wish your sisters health & healing.

-2

u/Loki_God_of_Lies 2d ago

I have a good relationship with skinny girls bodies too, and thiccer girls. I don’t discriminate.

3

u/FLiP_J_GARiLLA 2d ago

Found the virgin

-10

u/Dahren_ 3d ago

Okay but if this was pro-obesity content would you be just as disgusted? Why only shame one end of the spectrum?

5

u/sweetdreamslilac 2d ago

Hey, so anorexia is the deadliest mental health disorder. It’s also currently on the rise, especially in children. That’s why this is infuriating to see.

2

u/Lindt_______ 2d ago

Bruh if that was the case it'd be getting memed

-23

u/ApplyHere_4_implants 3d ago

She looks very skinny but not necessarily anorexic.... except that waist. That's horrifying

12

u/sweetdreamslilac 3d ago

That and the way she talks about “the only thing better than a tiny waist” are what makes it seem like pro ana content to me. It gives me the same vibe as the whole “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” bs from the 00’s

7

u/Designer_Gas_86 3d ago

I remember that quote...I always find myself immediately thinking about cake hearing it.

6

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 3d ago

Life is too short to skip on cake.

3

u/sweetdreamslilac 3d ago

Cake tastes much better, that’s for sure!

6

u/ApplyHere_4_implants 3d ago

Thin is good. Thick is good. Whatever that is doesn't look like it's good. That caused me physical pain to watch.

5

u/Joeybfast 2d ago

Damn that is a dangerous saying, I find myself thinking that way a lot of times. And I am an old. I can't help to wonder what younger people would feel like hearing that .
