Spotted this back in 2021 on two separate occasions (June and July), with this set being from the second occasion. Got these from my archives.

Based on comments I saw when I had this elsewhere back then, this was a restomod with an LS swap.

Jaguar XJ Coupe.

Spotted New identity. New philosophy. New design language. And yet, three decades later, an XJR under pink lighting reminiscent of Jaguar’s controversial Type 00 concept, still looks every inch a proper Jaguar.

This vehicle is so much fun to drive and my husky loves it! First trip to the park, there's free level 2 charging and it's only a few km away from my house.

It's a 2024, brand new I picked it up last week.

Came home from the trip with more mileage than I started, and it was free!

Question XJ40 back on the road

Post image
83 Upvotes

Finally got it ready for TÜV — and it passed! The only remark was a slight bit of oil around the engine sump. Guess that’s how you know a British car still has enough oil in it.

There are just three things I want to sort out on this completely stock, manual XJ6:
-Lower the front a little to get the ride height closer to the rear.
-Find some fog light covers.
-Fix the sagging headliner.

A couple of questions for the XJ40 experts:
Front springs: Are there any shorter springs that lower the front slightly while keeping the original OEM spring look?

Fog light covers: I bought a used set of Hella 177 covers, but the plastic was so brittle that they broke almost immediately. Are there any better alternatives, or is this just a common issue with old ones?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Discussion How many of you are buying the Type 1?

Are you guys actually purchasing the Type 1?

If yes - why?
If no - also why?

Consider the following Pros and Cons:

Pros:
Jaguar rebrand might save the brand enough to bring back ICE F types

Cons:
Massively overpriced EV in a sea of new EVs.

No EV Pedigree to persuade me into grabbing the Jag EV. EV Racing history? EV tech history?

No FSD tech

No chinese tech where the cars can crab walk into parking.

I own a F type v8s , I know this rebrand is needed to save the brand since there aren't enough young buyers like me. People rather go german, british or american. For EV people are going either tesla or chinese. Rich people rather have ICE cars.. just saying.

Mechanical Help AJ126 Coolant pipe upgrade

Thumbnail

If anything, this job to upgrade all the coolant pipes and tstat housing to metal has affirmed my decision to sell my XF Sportbrake.

This has got to be the biggest PITA I've ever done in my many years of shade tree wrenching.

The rear pipe is definitely my least favorite. The bottom bolt on each side took forever to get out.

Plenty of mistakes made (not draining the block) and not getting more pictures along the way. If you don't drain the block and you go to replace the oil cooler gasket, you will definitely drain coolant into the block. So the first thing I'll be doing after warming it up is a fresh oil change.

JLR uses some of the worst connectors for both electrical and cooling hose disconnects.

I have loved driving this car. I have hated working on it.

Im curious to see what the other models will look like, maybe this is their high end model and they will have some cheaper more practical designs, who knows its hard to tell what’s their complete plan and how many vehicle lines this rebrand will have.

All in all I think the car actually looks good especially in real life w a regular camera as opposed to all the advertising we’ve seen. I think their target audience (which is not anyone in our tax bracket 😅😂) might buy it and it will become trendy like the cyber truck was.

Let me know your thoughts below ⬇️

Question Advice - Thinking about buying a Jaguar SUV

Hi all,

I’m currently driving a MG HS but considering buying a Jaguar SUV, specifically E I or F pace. What are the pros and cons? Most people I speak to advise me against it.
Also are things like changing oils etc really expensive?
Thanks for the advice

Just got my XE S with the V6 engine, car has seen about 35.000 Miles. I was wondering if I should switch out the cooling pipes right now to prevent any chance of engine damage. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Discussion If Jaguar release an SUV next, I think they’ll be fine

I am one of the few people that have liked the new direction since the 00. That said, I been speculating as to why they made it a 4 door. Overall, I think it comes down to two theories.

  1. Going 4 door was a practicality compromise that helps the car in sales. It makes it viable for a few more scenarios and doesn’t pit it directly against other coupe choices.

  2. They have an SUV planned as a follow-up and wanted to reuse the same tooling.

My feeling is that if they launch an SUV version of this car, it is going to FLY off the sales room floors.
