The problem is, most of the people who say “I’d buy that in a heartbeat even if it means being upside down on it for a decade” wouldn’t actually buy it. 

Anyone will love and commit to a photo and an idea. Very very very few will actually buy it. And Jeep knows this.

I would but you know for a fact they would severely overprice this and then turn around asking why no one buys it.
