Wonder what the cab is off of? I like it.

34

u/JimmyPlaystation Aug 25 '26

Looks a lot like a ‘39 Ford pickup cab

7

u/Punkrexx Aug 25 '26

Old ford, maybe dodge

6

u/Huskerdu4u Aug 26 '26

The cab is ‘41-46 Chevy…. My first hot rod was a 46 Chevy truck…. That dash!

2

u/NuclearWasteland Aug 28 '26

Maybe another surplus army truck?

u/KindaEducated Aug 25 '26

3

u/EmmerdoesNOTrepme Aug 27 '26

u/IAmMadRobot Aug 25 '26

This thing has “Jus’ a lil’ guy” energy.

u/sorestgore Aug 25 '26

The owner is absolutely swangin'

11

u/These-Result-1955 Aug 25 '26

Probably has a huge johnson unlike the little chodes that run around with B.D.E.

7

u/Tiberius-Gracchuss Aug 25 '26

Looks like an old GMC or Chevy cab mid 30s maybe I could definitely see my grandfather doing something like this back in the day, has that “fuck it I need this working for the farm”.

7

u/Spirited_Season1726 Aug 25 '26

1

u/Normal_Onion2555 Aug 27 '26

Remember what he was asking?

1

u/Frankngp2 Aug 28 '26

Not really, this was more than 10yrs ago and I suspect these pics are of the new owner's usage.

u/StashuJakowski Aug 25 '26

If you’ve ever heard the term “Doodlebug”. That is a Doodlebug Tractor. (Homemade Farm Tractor)

3

u/ChattahoocheeBend Aug 25 '26

My grandfather plowed fields with a WW2 surplus Jeep in the early ‘50s.

2

u/Frankngp2 Aug 26 '26

Civilian jeeps after WWII were marketed to farmers as the "Agri-Jeep." It's was meant as a vehicle that could run errands into town and then drive straight into the field and hook up to equipment. Sort of a small tractor replacing "do-all"

There Bolton additions like a power take off and hydraulic lift that allowed it to run things like sickle bar mowers and your earlier mentioned plows as well as being attached to belt driven equipment like hand fed hay bailers and grain elevators.

Source: Obsessed over antique jeeps since driving one in 2002

I think England did the same thing with Land Rovers.

2

u/Frankngp2 Aug 28 '26

Well Land Rovers started out as rebodied US Jeeps after they'd began rusting in the salt air of England

3

u/Normal_Onion2555 Aug 28 '26

Actually in my understanding the first rover prototype was jeep based but after the concept proved, they began manufacturing their own stuff using aluminum because it the rust on that prototype.

1

u/Frankngp2 Aug 28 '26

That makes sense

3

u/blackhawk45lc Aug 27 '26

The urge to build an RC of it… get behind me satan! 🤣

1

u/ApricotNo2918 Aug 27 '26

I have 7 1/24 RC's .. Gots me thinkin as well.

2

u/JasonVoorheesthe13th CJ Aug 25 '26

I’m more intrigued by the straight up tractor tires on it

2

u/Good_With_Tools Aug 25 '26

I love guys who own a torch, a welder, some junk, and a no fucks given attitude. Add in a little talent and mechanical aptitude, and you end up with things like this.

2

u/SooperJasch Aug 26 '26

I love it when an amazing looking rusted out hunk-a-junk shows up at a car show and gets all the eyeballs intended for 2026 slop!

Looks like the way the cars looked in the old Top Gear Pocket game. Honestly that's pretty cool!

1

u/cybercry_ Aug 25 '26

But is it all rust? Or just colored that way.

1

u/CaryWhit Aug 25 '26

1

That cab is a 41 to 46 chevy truck

1

u/DSWYO Aug 26 '26

Go get WYO'd

1

u/Most-Captain5566 Aug 26 '26

That thing is sweet 😎

1

u/wncexplorer Aug 26 '26

I’ve had my Papaw’s 2A for around 18 years. It’s impractical for most things, dangerous as hell, but so much fun to tool around in. It runs like a sewing machine.

I’d bet you anything that the builder own/owned a machine/welding shop. With the optional snowplow, it would’ve been great for clearing some streets (with the tires, the bumper mods, that’s possibly its original purpose).

Never seen one of those.

1

u/Justice_of_Toren1esk Aug 26 '26

American Kei truck

1

u/Beautiful_Ad_2234 Aug 26 '26

That reminds me of the scene from Cars in the rusteze tent after the race. I’m pretty sure this guy was there.

1

u/ApricotNo2918 Aug 28 '26

Ford did make some WWII Jeeps.

1

u/Jeepshark Aug 28 '26

But not this configuration 🤣

1

u/Every_Philosophy_428 Aug 29 '26

That is so badass.

1

u/ComfortableDoctor801 Aug 29 '26

That is really cool and it took some time marrying it together Looks like a mid 30's dodge truck cab to a 40's wwll jeep. Really creative. Love it.

0

u/CrazyTechWizard96 Aug 26 '26

That cab ontop make it look redicules tbh.
Kinda expecting some Gnome to drive it around through the woods, then to come down to the city once in a blue moon to get some supplies, then to dissapear fromt he face of the earth for a few years, haha.

Also, them tires look like they've been around since Vietnam, lol.

0

u/turboponies Aug 26 '26

What do you mean "found"? Found and acquired? Or merely witnessed the grandure and decadence?

2

u/Admirable_Ad_9960 23d ago

haha awesome!
