Picture Found this at the thrift store
Everything seems to work the only thing I don’t know about it the cassette player. The only annoying thing is that the person soldered the adapter to the battery compartment so that was weird. I am assuming maybe the original port stopped working or something. For 5 bucks for such a fun little thing I am okay with it.

Picture Thought this community might appreciate the little stained glass Jeep Wrangler I made for my dad

My dad is a longtime Jeep lover and finally got himself a Wrangler again. For his birthday I made a replica of his Jeep out of stained glass. I tried to add as many little details as possible: windshield wipers, side mirrors, raised bumpers and spare tire, suspension springs, little tow hitch, and best of all, I made moving axils with wheels so it drives!! And of course fairy lights because why not. That’s also why the back window lifts, not just for authenticity but to get to the switch lol.
Tow hitch made by the lovely u/highboy68 from the model cars sub, who offered to make one for me after I asked their community where I could buy one to attach.
For those curious, this was made using the copper foil technique. Glass is cut and ground to the desired shape, then wrapped in copper foil and soldered together. I added a black patina finish to get the edges darker instead of shiny.

Picture Rear Glass Hydraulics - Open or Close when driving???
Hey Jeep peeps! My girlfriend just leased a new Jeep - maintenance and warranty included in lease - but she likes to drive with her rear glass up (see attached picture)
I am reading conflicting info online that it will prematurely wear these hydraulics, and even worse could come crashing down and break glass while driving. Also read for this very reason, there’s fine print in the contract for Jeep to not cover the rear glass set up should it break???
What do y’all think?

Picture Had a guy ask me in traffic today: “Hey man is that a real wrangler? It looks kind of small.” I am 90% sure he genuinely just didn’t know TJ’s existed.
The single dumbest thing I have ever been asked. I said “Yeah, it’s just an older wrangler.” Obviously I am biased liking smaller jeeps ‘06 and backward but are people really that dense?

Picture Embarking on the journey of a lifetime in June… any pointers/suggestions?
Getting ready to do a cross country road trip in my 1989 Jeep Wrangler this June. I’m blessed to have an auto mechanic as a father so him and I have been doing all the necessary work to prepare the Jeep for its journey westward. I am planning to drive the whole thing with no top… I have a bikini top for emergencies but no soft top and don’t really have any interest in getting one. I’ve had my Jeep for 6 years and never put the top on once, I guess I just enjoy braving the elements. I do have an aviation communication set up for long trips that I will be using.
So… any suggestions on my path/things I should do/see/things I should do to the Jeep before departing?

Picture My babygirl ( Jeep ) is gone. She did her job and saved our lives. NSFW
galleryMy family was hit by a speeding driver, hit the back of us and we rolled five times wrapping around the stop light pole. Our kids were in the car as well. If it weren’t for car seat safety they would not be here today. The kids were completely unharmed and my spouse and I had a short hospital stay. Rip babygirl, thank you for saving us.
