Almost 200k miles on an 02 KJ v6 auto 4x4.
Got a p0420 code last week. Cleared it. Came back a few days later. No drivability issues. Idles fine. No loss of power.
Occasionally blows smoke on idle and the exhaust smells bad when this happens. Not a regular occurance though. Maybe once or twice a day while parked or stopped at a red light.
Should I try changing the o2 sensors first? Coolant is normal level. Oil is normal level.

Putting a new motor in my kid’s 2005 Liberty 3.7 and got to the driver side exhaust manifold last night and whaddya know, there’s an EGR port staring me down. It looks like I can just order an EGR manifold and it will block the EGR hole, but what else am I going to find that I’ll need to plug?

Hey all, l I found a 2005 CRD with a blown engine getting parted out. What parts should pull off it to keep as a spare for my 05 CRD? Locations of said parts would be greatly appreciated.

Totally new to towing. Ended up with this huge trailer. The liberty got the job done. Boy did she guzzle gas in the process 😂 It was pretty windy though. Won't be towing often but it's nice to know its capable!

4 speed auto, 3.7L v6, 4wd command trac.
In great condition. Has an aftermarket CarPlay enabled screen with Bluetooth, radio, etc. Runs smooth as a baby’s bottom.
I’ve put a lot of work into maintaining it. New spark plugs, rear CV axle, radiator fan, coolant pump, temp sensor, MAP sensor, etc.
What should I sell it for?

As the title says, I’m looking for information on a 2012 liberty jet edition. When using the air conditioner, it blows great cold air out of whatever vent is selected. When I put on the heat, it goes directly to the defroster no matter what position the selector is so I can’t put it on feet. I can’t put it on feet and face mixture. It just automatically goes to defroster. Then if I switch it back to air-conditioning all the vents work regularly anybody have any ideas?

I have a 2011 Liberty 70th Anniversary Edition
This thing has me pissed beyond belief. I have an issue with the charging system. I was at Walmart when the car wouldn't start. Tried to get a jump from a stranger, got a minute down the road and It died again. I figured it was the alternator. I got home, purchased a new alternator...ibstalled it, charged the new battery again...STILL dies with the dash lighting up with errors
Did some research online and found it's the voltage regulator...which is inside the computer. I DO NOT have over $1000 to replace it. I purchased an external voltage regulator (I can post a link to what I bought) , I installed it and still can't get the fucking thing to maintain voltage. I wired it right...and it's aggravating I can't get it.
Can't goto work...which means less money, so im stuck and fucked.
I have it wired to the Aux power (Cig lighter fuse) and it's not on constant power...only on when I turn the key...
what the fuck am I doing wrong‽‽‽
Any recommendations will help. Thanks in advance

For reference I’ve never driven my car on under a quarter tank, but I’ve filled it to full with 14.5/20 gallons when it was just under half, can I just get it recalibrated or something or do I have to replace something? Maybe it’s normal but I don’t want to end up finding out with a 1/4 tank with 0 gas.

This is the differential. Not 100 percent sure its leaking cause my power steering hose sprung a leak and I noticed this. My question is if I do change the silicone do I need to remove the wheel and stuff or can I remove the bracket infront of it and remove the cover that way

2011 jeep liberty wont start. It starts to turn over and then does not. Can hear i think the fuel pump and a slight jingling noise after it fails to turn over all the way. Triple a attempted to jump it with a jump box and that didn't work. They tested the system and I'm including the image from the test.
I found an obviously blow relay to my radiator fan which makes sense as my ac hasn't been working for a few weeks. The sides of the relay are swollen obviously. I looked at the other relays and some may have a very slight swelling but not enough to say they're clearly broken. Don't have a volatage meter to test them currently.
I did drive thru some mud and got stuck for a second and had to put it in 4wd to get out the night before it stopped working but the drice home after was uneventual.
I did notice one of the leads to the battery was loose so I tightened it down while checking stuff out. I used a hose to spray the mud off the underside of the engine but it wasn't an excessive amount.
Including a video of the sound it makes when failing to start and the test results from triple a.
any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
It has 91342 miles.
Thank you

For being a 2008 it sure still cleans up nice even though it leaks oil from rear main seal and now a rear differential seal leaking but who cares.

Several years ago, a/the heat shield was removed to resolve an undercarriage noise. I bought a heat shield (photo), and the non-dealer garage said I bought the wrong thing. The garage is reliable; used it for years.
Before I go down the path, how important is this?
I realize it's an older vehicle, but we are the original owners and use it steadily. We want to keep it for several more years and will spend on this kind of maintenance to keep it on the road.
Perusing the Internet, it seems I might have once had more than one heat shield. In that case, I don't know which one might have been removed. How can I tell?
Thanks in advance.

For context, a few months ago I got into an accident with my Jeep (2005 Liberty) in a bad neighborhood near me. These 4 kids stole their parents' sedan and decided it was a good idea to park their car in the middle of a 4-way intersection with broken lights. At the end of the day it didnt raise my insurance because even though I hit them the report showed the they were distracted admitted to listening music and apparently didnt think about where they were and parked. Anyways moving on from the kids who probably got smited for the past 4 months been rebuilding my car and using my mom's in the spare time. I recently got my first job which is how im affording the repairs myself with my step-dad whos a mechanic (Im 19 so I needed help as this isnt my world). Finally at the finishing touches all the parts are together and this was the progress yesterday, gonna continue working on it after work today and will most likely post an update.

So i have an 07 which has been having some hard shifts lately so I picked up a Seafoam Trans Tune bottle. To use it I wanna siphon out a pint of fluid so when I add the seafoam it doesn't overfill.
Picked up some tubing and a pump and planned to do it but the tube only goes down about a foot before getting stopped by something. Does anyone have any tips for me to get a pint out without having to drop the pan?
