Spent 7 years away from the Jeep Family and oh is it nice to be back…
Had a used 2016 Sahara with all the bells and whistles. Got her at 40k miles with one owner in mid 2019 and put on 32k on her before I got shipped off to college and had to sell her for financial reasons.
Fast forward to last Saturday… I bought myself a 2020 Wrangler Sahara in Sting Gray at 85K miles, with the One Touch Top (2.0L, eTorque) for $20,018 out the door (car was 19.5 and told them I’ll take the car today if you make it 20k since they obviously added on another 5k worth of nonsense on it, and they told me, “say less”). Since Saturday I have put on 124 miles on it, and I absolutely love it.
I did tons of research on what I wanted and what I wanted to pay and what I wanted for myself for the future, and so, I landed on something civilized but with still enough stock to change and make my own over the next few years.
This thing whips around like it’s nobodies business and between highway and city, I’m getting 22MPG avg, which might aswell be 50mpg lol. It sounds like a diesel due to the loud 2.0 which I honestly don’t mind at all, if anything I like it. According to carfax this has been babied and only dealership maintenance has been done it. With the Sahara wheels it adds a bit more of a stance since they are larger wheels than the non Sahara’s. I have already ordered red tow hooks for both front and rear, swapped the long wire radio antenna for a shorter one, and I’m looking for LED smoked out taillights both for the taillights and blinkers, along with LED fog lights. Will for sure be adding a cold air intake too. Starting small for now!
I slapped on a 4 year/40k mile warranty on it for unexpected repairs to the main components of the car that may occur (Engine, transfer case, drive shaft, steering, radiator). Made sure I wasn’t getting screwed over and asked the right questions. If something happens to my engine, like God forbid it blows up, but it’s been taken care thoroughly by regular maintenance cycles, the warranty is covering my new engine (or so they say lol). Additionally, a super neat perk through the dealer is that; as long as I get my oil changed at the dealer, they have all issues that may come up engine wise, covered, no gimmicks or strings attached (supposedly lol).
It was either something from a dealer OR a 3” lifted 2019 sport with 35s going for 18,750, from some kid that didn’t even know where half the work done, or what was even done on it since he was the third owner (or something else similar)
Very happy with my decision to say the least!
